Streaming options to help you dominate your week
By: J.J. Gosh @jjgosh
For those of you new to fantasy football, or if you are just looking for a new strategy, “Streaming” is the idea of selecting somebody from the Free Agent pool or waiver wire based on favorable matchups. This strategy is particularly effective if you failed to draft an elite player at QB, TE, or DEF.
We made it! It’s Fantasy Football Championship week for most of you. If you’re lucky enough to have made it this far, why not finish with a bang and get that Fantasy Football Title! Last week was a solid week for streaming QB and DST. Tight End was the toughest to predict, like it has been all year. No Tight End cracked the top-12, but you were provided with a top-10 QB in Josh Allen and 2 top-10 DST’s including the 1st overall DST in Atlanta, and Cleveland finishing 10th also. Check out last weeks’ results and this week’s picks for your Championship game.
Make sure to tune in next week when I go over my entire season’s worth of streamers in a recap article showing exactly where my streamers ranked this year.
1.) Derek Carr – 24% owned – vs Denver
Denver no longer has Chris Harris so their pass defense is much less imposing. Carr has taken care of the ball of late, not throwing an INT in his last 9 games.
2.) Josh Allen – 23% owned – @ New England
Still as inconsistent throwing the ball as you’d expect a rookie to be, his legs have kept him in the QB1 conversation. New England plays plenty of man-to-man defenses which makes it easier for QB’s to run.
3.) Sam Darnold – 4% owned – vs Green Bay
Coming off his best game as a pro, both real football and fantasy football alike, he gets a Packers defense traveling across half the country to play an early game. Let’s see if the kid can build on his solid performance.
1.) Ricky Seals-Jones – 18% owned vs LA Rams
Back to the well, I guess. RSJ was a staple in this article, constantly disappointing. But, he’s still seeing volume. RSJ has 13 targets in his last 2 games and saw 6 the last time these teams played. Let’s hope he finds the end zone this time.
2.) Chris Herndon – 12% owned – vs Green Bay
The matchup isn’t great, but he’s slowly becoming a favorite of Sam Darnold. With a banged up WR group, he should continue to see volume this week.
3.) Blake Jarwin – 1% owned – vs Tampa Bay
The Buccaneers are a top-10 matchup for opposing Tight Ends and Jarwin has seen 7 targets in each of the last 2 games.
1.) Indianapolis Colts – 27% owned – vs NY Giants
The Giants love to let DST’s score and the Colts have 11 sacks and 3 turnovers in their last 3 games. Look for Eli to fall over quite a bit against this surprising defense.
2.) Cleveland Browns – 12% owned – vs Cincinnati
The Browns rewarded you with a top-10 finish last week and now The Bengals come to town. With Cincy losing their starting QB and 3 of their top pass catching options, the Browns could capitalize.
3.) Miami Dolphins – 18% owned – vs Jacksonville
The Jaguars are the 3rd best matchup for opposing DST’s. While the Dolphins aren’t exactly an elite defense, the Jaguars backup QB is not an imposing threat.
