Field of Streams – Week 12
By: J.J. Gosh @jjgosh
For those of you new to fantasy football, or if you are just looking for a new strategy, “Streaming” is the idea of selecting somebody from the Free Agent pool or waiver wire based on favorable matchups. This strategy is particularly effective if you failed to draft an elite player at QB, TE, or DEF.
I’ve been saying all year that Tight End is an ugly position. This continued to hold true in week 11, as this was the only position Field of Streams was unable to provide a top-12 option for. Eli Manning (QB12) and Josh Rosen (QB15) both provided passable games, while the New Orleans Saints was yet again the top overall Defensive streamer and the Oakland Raiders were also top-12. Check out all of last weeks results followed by streaming options for week 12.
1.) Eli Manning – 23% owned – @ Philadelphia
As gross as it is, Eli Manning is actually playing good football. He has 300+ passing yards of multiple TD’s in 6 of his last 8 games and gets to go against a depleted Eagles defense.
2.) Lamar Jackson – 20% owned – vs Oakland
Taking over for Flacco, Jackson showed his floor with his rushing ability amassing 117yds on the ground. If he gets the passing game going, you could see his ceiling in an attackable matchup vs the Raiders this week.
3.) Jameis Winston– 10% owned – vs San Francisco
The Tampa Bay QB carousel continues. Winston came in and scored 18.56 fantasy points in just about a half of football. The 49ers are another good matchup. Winston will likely have turnovers and dumb decisions, but points are coming.
1.) Jeff Heuerman – 24% owned vs Pittsburgh
The Bronco Tight End hit his floor yet again, but it’s a pretty safe floor no matter how uninspiring. Keenum has targeted Heuerman 5+ times in their last 4 games, and he has a TD in 2 of the last 3.
2.) Cameron Brate – 21% owned – vs San Francisco
BREAKING – O.J. Howard is on Injured Reserve and out for the season. Brate could be a potential TE1 every week from here on out, so get him on your roster.
3.) C.J. Uzomah – 20% owned – vs Cleveland
Much like Heuerman, he’s seen a fair amount of volume with 4+ targets in 4 of the last 5 games. With Tight End streamers, you’re hoping they find the end zone. Cleveland is the 5th best matchup for Tight Ends, so you could be in luck.
1.) Indianapolis Colts – 26% owned – vs Miami
Ryan Tannehill is coming back for Miami and he loves to give the ball to the opposing defense. The Dolphins are the 5th best matchup for DST’s and the Colts are coming off a 5 sack and 2 turnover game.
2.) Dallas Cowboys – 18% owned – vs Washington
Alex Smith went down in gruesome fashion last week, meaning the Cowboys get to play a backup QB at home on Thursday. They have a total of 9 sacks and 4 turnovers in the last 3 games and could easily add to those totals on Thanksgiving.
3.) Buffalo Bills – 13% owned – vs Jacksonville
The Bills defense has 13 sacks and 6 turnovers in their last 5 games and they get a matchup with a QB who loves to turn the ball over. Bortles will give the Bills opportunities, let’s just hope they can cash in.
