Welcome back. Another winning week last week albeit not by much, but we we won one more game than we lost and finished at 5-4. This brings our season record to 20-15 overall, 18-10 on sides and 2-5 on totals. Let’s get right into our best bets for Week five. You can follow all my picks and records for all sports here. Let’s dig right in with our free NFL picks and best bets for Week 5.

Giants @ Packers (London)

The Pick: Packers -8

Aaron Rodgers is starting to get more and more comfortable in this offense without Davante Adams. Alan Lazard has stepped up, rookie Romeo Doubs is looking better every game and even Christian Watson got in the mix scoring a touchdown on a reverse run last week. The Giants are 3-1 and have played admirably but two of their three wins have come against the lowly Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers. Daniel Jones ankle is banged up and he’s bascially left with just Richie James at wide reciever. Wandale Robinson and Kadarius Toney remain out, Kenny Golladay was horrific but is now hurt himself, and Sterling Shepard is out for the year. David Sills is simply not good at football. Saquon Barkley can’t do it all by himself. The Packers are just going to be way too much for the Giants on the Golden field in London.

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings

The Pick: Bears +7.5

Justin Fields played the Vikings once last season and had over 300 total yards and touchdown, while not turning the ball over. People are clowning Fields all over twitter, but he’s not playing that bad under the circumstances. Fields offensive line isn’t good and their recieving weapons are certainly lacking, but I think Fields and the Bears defense can do enough to stay within the number and even win this game. Fields is going to continue to improve and I think the masses will see some of that progression in this matchup. Bears, Ditka, Sausage.

Detroit Lions @ New England Patriots

The Pick: Pats -3

Backing a team with Bailey Zappe at quarterback? I didn’t think Zappe looked terrible against Green Bay and the Pats almost pulled off a stunner last week in Lambeau. Zappe’s potential is highly unknown, but this Lions defense is a hot mess right now allowing  a whopping 35 points per game. The Patriots will also certainly be able to run at will on this Lions defense with Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson. The Lions offense and Jared Goff have performed well this season behind this offensive line, but Goff is still prone to mistakes and I think Bill Belichick will slow him down. Goff has a career a 2/4 touchdown to interception ratio against Billy.

Seattle Seahawks @ New Orleans Saints

The Pick: Over 45

Seattle’s defense looks very sorry right now allowing 45 points to the Lions last week and 27 the week to Alanta the week before.  Andy Dalton and Chris Olave should be able to do some damage here and I believe in Gino Smith against a New Orleans defense allowing 24 points a game. This is a sneaky shootout game here with some DFS stack potential.

Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets

The Pick: Jets +3.5

Zach Wilson returned last week and although he had an up-and-down performance he led this team back to seal the victory in the 4th quarter against the Steelers on the road. He made some big-time throws and displayed the arm talent he has. I am a believer in Zach Wilson and think he will be the answer for the Jets long-term at the position. The Dolphins are a little banged up coming into this game with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Terron Armstead, and Xavien Howard all practicing in a limited fashion this week. The Jets on the other hand will get their starting tackle Duane Brown back. The jets are healthier are at home and have the better quarterback, give me the J E T S, JETS, JETS, JETS, to not only cover but to win this game.

Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Pick: Bucs -10

This is just an ugly spot for the Falcons here against a Tampa Bay team that now has all their weapons back and starting to find their offensive groove. The Falcons will once again be without Cordarrelle Patterson and now Kyle Pitts.  The Bucs are currently 0-2 at home but they lost to the Chiefs and Packers, that will change this week against a Falcons team they beat twice last season, 48-25 and 30-17.

San Francisco 49ers @ Carolina Panthers

The Pick: 49ers -6.5

The last bit of remaining Baker Mayfield stans might be gone at this point as he’s been absolutely abysmal in Carolina. If you drafted D.J. Moore in fantasy, I am sorry, but the warning signs were there. Hopefully, you can salvage something this year from him. Now Baker goes up against arguably the best defense in Football in the 49ers. They are playing ferociously right now allowing just 11.5 points per game. This will probably be a low-scoring game, I’ll say the 49ers 23-13.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens

The Pick: Bengals +3.5

There is no doubt the Bengals were suffering a hangover from their Super Bowl loss to the Rams and it also didn’t help that Joe Burrow had appendectomy surgery which knocked him out of practice and preseason games. However, in the last two weeks the Bengals have gotten back into form and are starting to look like their old selves. The Bengals took care of the Ravens twice last season winning 41-17 and 41-21 and now are getting 3.5 points? The Ravens’ defense is allowing 25 points per game right now and hasn’t really looked sound. I’ll roll the Bengals.
