Fantasy Football and Consistency

Fantasy football is all about upside and managing expectations. Knowing a skill player’s opponent, and their strengths can really help you set a reasonable expectation for that player. Which is exactly what D-PAC (Defensive Points Allowed Consistency) does. D-PAC measures how consistently a team gives up fantasy points to each skill position.

With the recent schedule release for the 2023 season, I took the full NFL Schedule and used D-PAC to rank each team’s schedule in terms of “plus” matchups. This, by no means, should be all you take with you to your fantasy football drafts. But using this Strength of Schedule plus your rankings should help break a tie when you’re on the clock and between two similarly ranked players.

2023 Strength of Schedule

The 2023 NFL season kicks off with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs and the dark horse Detroit Lions. This game is set to kick off on September 7th at 8:20 PM EST at Arrowhead Stadium.

Aaron Rodgers makes his debut for the New York Jets as they host the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, primetime on Monday Night Football. Not only do we get a triple-header on Thanksgiving, but we also get another triple-header on Christmas this year as well.

Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers lead the way with the “easiest” fantasy football schedule on paper. Continue reading and out the rest of the list and see where every team lands.
