2024 Final Pre-NFL Draft Dynasty Football Rookie Rankings
After months of watching the 2024 NFL Draft process play out, we’ve finally reached the final week before the prospects find out their initial NFL destinations. As for dynasty fantasy football managers, we’ve seen players such as JJ McCarthy and Xavier Worthy rise during the process. As expected, these rising players will help solidify the top end of this rookie draft class for fantasy football purposes, in an already strong class and deep class.
2024 Dynasty Football Rookie Rankings: Final Pre-NFL Draft Edition
Let’s take one last look at 15 top prospects for our dynasty fantasy football teams from the 2024 NFL Draft class. Additionally, we have a brief look into what to expect from them. Let’s get right into our final pre-draft rankings for the 2024 rookies. Specifically, for dynasty league football purposes.
1. QB Caleb Williams, USC
The USC product is the top quarterback and prospective 1st overall pick in next week’s NFL Draft. The upside Caleb Williams provides for dynasty managers is a potential long-term top-five fantasy quarterback. Veteran targets such as Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, and Cole Kmet can put Williams on that path earlier than later. All in all, he’s worthy as the top fantasy player in the class.
2. WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State
This draft class has top-end talent at quarterback and the wide receiver position, epitomized by these rankings with Williams first overall and Marvin Harrison Jr. here at number two. Harrison Jr. figures to be taken within the six picks, with potential outcomes of a Kyler Murray or Justin Herbert connection long-term. Ultimately, he showed everything he could to be a building block for dynasty teams.
3. QB Jayden Daniels, LSU
Speaking of building blocks, Jayden Daniels is likely to be one if he’s taken with a top-three pick next week. Daniels has the mobility to give fantasy football players a floor every week. Not to mention, his arm can give him value with the touchdown throws he can make.
Overall, this is a fantastic top three in 2024 for dynasty leagues. Realistically, each player would be worthy of a 1st overall pick most seasons.
4. QB Drake Maye, North Carolina
Drake Maye has seen his fantasy value fluctuate during this offseason, but this player still figures to be taken in the top five picks during next week’s NFL Draft. Not every quarterback works out from each class, and Maye could have an uphill battle depending on his eventual landing spot. However, he can dole it out to receivers and hasn’t fallen far at all from his preseason placement as a top-two quarterback in the class.
5. WR Malik Nabers, LSU
Malik Nabers might just be everyone’s favorite player to take in the class. As you can expect, getting him in the top five feels like a steal every time. Nabers plays with a lot of speed and makes electric plays. That’s an exciting brand of football that is also conducive to fantasy output, especially for best ball leagues. Nabers figures to be a fun and productive asset to own, and worthy of his top-five placement.
6. TE Brock Bowers, Georgia
The tight end position is always tough to figure out in fantasy football. Brock Bowers should help ease the minds of managers going best player available in the first round. He’s remained a top talent in this class for three seasons and figures to be a focal point in an NFL offense.
7. QB JJ McCarthy, Michigan
It seems one of JJ McCarthy or Drake Maye is likely to end up as QB4 in this class. However, a first-round quarterback is worth taking with a top pick. McCarthy rose during the process due to his athleticism and skills, and he’s likely to be starting in the NFL soon. With such a deep class, getting a starter at quarterback past a top-five pick is a safe selection with plenty of upside.
8. WR Rome Odunze, WR
We are going to talk about wide receivers for a bit now, so buckle up. Rome Odunze has been behind top wide receivers Harrison and Nabers in rookie rankings since January. However, he also hasn’t seemingly fallen below anyone in the process. Ultimately, he will likely be a top-15 pick and can be an NFL producer right away.
9. WR Brian Thomas Jr., LSU
This draft seemingly has an endless cavalcade of first-round worthy wide receivers. Brian Thomas Jr. tested well at the NFL Combine. Additionally, he showed off a physical style of play at LSU in 2023. In the end, he should be a top-10 pick in many rookie drafts this year.
10. WR Adonai Mitchell, Texas
Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell has NFL-level size and showed impressive speed at the NFL combine. Longhorn teammate Xavier Worthy took the headlines that night. However, Mitchell is likely to be drafted higher, maybe even on the draft’s first night. He is a worthy first-rounder rookie pick who can command NFL targets.
11. WR Ladd McConkey, Georgia
We’re still talking about wide receivers, and Georgia speedster Ladd McConkey should hear his name called late Day 1 or early Day 2 next week. Notably, he is a great route runner, with great hands and versatility. He is likely to see the field earlier than maybe even a couple of names ahead of him here. In the end, if he can accrue targets early in an offense, he will produce.
12. WR Xavier Worthy, Texas
The runner with the fastest 40-yard dash time ever also figures to be taken early in the NFL Draft, with Xavier Worthy boosting his stock this offseason. You’d hope the team that takes him early knows how to deploy his speed and expand his threat in the passing game. If that happens, he’ll make plays at the NFL level and be worthy of a top-15 pick in rookie drafts.
13. WR Roman Wilson, Michigan
The Michigan product Roman Wilson is a great route-running and short-space receiver. He may be a Day 2 NFL pick but should show his reliability in the offense that takes him. The strength in this class is the wide receiver position, but let’s switch it up and talk about a running back worth taking with a top-15 pick.
14. RB Jaylen Wright, Tennessee
Jaylen Wright from Tennessee offered a strong showing at the 2024 NFL Combine. He ran a speedy 4.38 with a 1.55 10-yard split while coming in at 210 lbs. Wright doesn’t turn 21 until this summer and fits as a possible Day 2 NFL selection. Even if he’s a Round 3 pick, that may be the best running back capital in the class. He has size, youth, production, and health on his side. Unlike his youthful draft counterpart, Jonathon Brooks.
15. WR Troy Franklin, Oregon
Troy Franklin and Bo Nix showed good chemistry this past season, leading to a higher draft outlook for the wide receiver. Franklin proved he has speed at the combine and came in taller than expected at 6’2″ Franklin should be a solid top-two wide receiver in an NFL offense. His actual upside likely falls more into a solid WR2 on a good team. However, his speed and playmaking at this size are certainly notable.
This list of top rookie prospects for 2024 has certainly fluctuated since last Fall and during this 2024 pre-draft process. Seeing players such as Roman Wilson and JJ McCarthy see their stock rise has been impressive, while it’s still yet to be seen how the dust settles for the quarterback and running back positions overall. There are going to be quite a few wide receivers worth taking toward the top of this draft, but don’t forget names such as Blake Corum, Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Trey Benson as value picks.
Finally, you can rest assured you will be able to find a productive wide receiver in this class. Especially in the first round. However, you can also find plenty of talent in the later rounds. Overall, this class is deep and brimming with talent across at least a couple of full rounds.
