Welcome back to another edition of Scouting the Nation. Today, we take a look at the best slot cornerback in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft class. Additionally, I’ll be giving you an early look at my top CB prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft class. Continue reading to learn about these two talented cornerback prospects.

Elite Cornerback Prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft and 2026

Jacob Parrish CB Kansas State

A prospect who is going to rise throughout the pre-draft process, Parrish has all the tools to be a decade-long starter in the NFL. So far, he’s played the majority of his snaps on the outside. However, Parrish will also be able to play inside at the next level.

Based on how the cornerback class looks for the 2025 NFL Draft, Parrish should be viewed as the best slot cornerback in the draft. With how valuable high-end slot defenders have become, Parrish could be a real difference-maker for a team’s cornerback room.

Furthermore, Parrish is extremely fast, physical, and can play the football. He tackles very well and doesn’t give up separation in coverage. His game will translate and allow him to start as a rookie. Ultimately, he’s my favorite cornerback in the class and should be a second-round pick. Not to mention, he has legit Pro Bowl upside.

Jermod McCoy CB Tennessee

My current top prospect for the 2026 class, McCoy, was lights out all year for the Volunteers. McCoy recorded four interceptions this past season, and he plays the ball very well in the air. Impressively, he routinely turned into a wide receiver in contested catch situations.

Furthermore, McCoy plays with such control and is a very fluid mover. He’s versatile and has every trait teams look for in a cornerback: Size, length, speed, and production in the SEC. This is a slam dunk player who will be regarded on the same level as Travis Hunter, Sauce Gardner, and Patrick Surtain II as a prospect. It would be surprising if he made it past the top five of the 2026 NFL Draft.
