3-Quarterback-Sleepers-for-2QB-Fantasy-Leagues-in-2023

Now that the dust has settled and the 2023 NFL Draft is over, it is never too early to start thinking about rookie drafts in dynasty leagues. Especially if you are in a Superflex fantasy football league. When competing in a Superflex or 2QB league, it’s much deeper than just the best running backs, wide receivers, or tight ends. Quarterbacks are massively valued and low-end starters at the quarterback position carry plenty of value as well.

Selecting the right quarterback is the most crucial position to have solid options. Personally, I like to keep at least three to four on my dynasty rosters in these leagues. That said, here are three quarterback sleepers this year that I like and that could have the potential to pay off huge for the 2023 season.

Sam Howell, Washington Commanders

Sam Howell had a solid three-year career in North Carolina, totaling 10,283 passing yards, 92 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions. He did this all while posting a 63.8 completion percentage. The Washington Commanders also have a solid set of wideouts in (Scary) Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Curtis Samuel.

Last season Washington totaled 23 passing touchdowns between former quarterback Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke. Really, the Commanders can only improve with Howell. Although Howell only played a minimal sample size in 2022, he is the starter for 2023 and posted an 83 QBR last season.

Coming out of the 2023 NFL Draft without drafting a quarterback speaks a lot about Howell. It’s clear they have confidence in the former Tar Heel as their quarterback for the foreseeable future, even if it’s just 2023. If the Commanders are rolling with Howell, we should also be for fantasy purposes. Howell is a solid Superflex option in 2023 and his current ADP is 32.9, which could be a nice steal.

Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons

One of my favorite sleepers in Superflex leagues this season is the former Cincinnati Bearcat Desmond Ridder. In his last year in Cincy, the former Bearcat threw for 3,334 yards and tossed 30 touchdowns with only 8 interceptions. Personally, I am a massive believer in Ridder. I love what the Atlanta Falcons have done with the offense. Atlanta surrounded Ridder with Drake London, Kyle Pitts, 2023 first-round pick Bijan Robinson, and Tyler Allgeier.

Furthermore, Ridder completed 63.5% of his passes in four games that he played in last year. Additionally, he threw for two touchdowns. Atlanta is another team that passed on a quarterback in last week’s draft. It’s clear they are all in with the former Bearcat, again even if just for 2023. Ridder currently has an ADP of 30.9, which puts him in the likes of Jimmy Garoppolo and Mac Jones. Between these three, I am taking Ridder based on pure fantasy football upside.

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

The Packers have a new face at the quarterback position, and boy, was it time. This season Jordan Love will be under center with a relatively young core, and Green Bay should be excited. Love had a stellar 2018 season in college and, in 2019, came back down to earth just a tad. Former Utah State quarterback threw for 32 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions in 2018. Then, in 2019 threw for 20 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

The best thing to ever happen for Love was to sit behind current New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers for all those years. In total, Love played in 10 games as a Packer and completed 60.2% of his passes since 2021.

As for new quarterbacks, the Packers did select quarterback Sean Clifford in the 5th Round in last week’s draft. However, this should not worry anyone has Love will be the starter in 2023. With wideouts Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, Love will have weapons to work with. Not to mention running back Aaron Jones, who has had a solid career so far in Green Bay. He’ll also have new rookies such as tight end Luke Musgrave and wide receiver Jayden Reed.

Right now, the new franchise quarterback currently has an ADP of 24.1. However, I would not wait too long to grab the Packers’ new quarterback. I hope these quarterbacks will bring you more wins in 2023 and at least help when it comes to those later rounds and when you still need a quarterback.
