Whether you’re in Devy leagues or deep dynasty football leagues, it’s never too early to get to know these prospects. Continue reading to find out who these 7 players are that you need to know for your Devy fantasy football leagues.
7 Top Devy Players for 2025 – Devy Fantasy Football
In this article, we’ll be highlighting a few high-level college players who could be an NFL producer sooner rather than later. While most of these players will be eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft after this year, we will also highlight a couple of prospects who will be involved in classes post-2025. Let’s look ahead at this college season and how it could unfold, by listing a few stars to watch for our Devy squads in this 2024 season.
QB Carson Beck – Georgia
Our first listed player is Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, and he has a very real opportunity to hear his name called on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft. In Beck’s first start of 2024, he completed an efficient 23 of 33 (nearly 70%) of his passes while putting two passing touchdowns on the scoreboard for the Bulldogs.
In his now second full season as the starter, Beck appears to again be his uber-efficient self, a player who should certainly attract fantasy managers of any format. The 2025 quarterback class is not the strongest from a tools perspective or readiness perspective, so a player of Beck’s caliber should at least interest a team in the first 15 picks. He has proven to be a steady distributor for the Bulldogs while not being error-prone through the air. Notably, 6 interceptions on 417 pass attempts in 2023.
As long as Beck is taking care of the football, he can put the ball on time for his current and future teammates. More importantly, he could end up being a very valuable long-term piece of your Devy fantasy football squads.
QB Brady Cook – Missouri
In this article, we highlight two SEC quarterbacks who are 2025 NFL Draft-eligible. Both of them could very well find themselves as the first quarterbacks taken. More importantly, they could end up being very valuable dynasty and Devy fantasy football assets.
Missouri’s Brady Cook, like the aforementioned Beck, is an efficient passer who may offer a little rushing upside as well. He’s been a very good starter for the Tigers in his two full seasons. Ultimately, when surrounded with NFL talent, Cook could elevate his game to another level altogether.
As for right now, Cook’s main goal this season will be to solidify his 2025 NFL Draft status. Additionally, he needs to prove himself as a difference-maker at the position. Cook has similar abilities to Beck in the pocket and with his ball control skills, they will both take care of the football. Those skills plus Cook’s arm talent should get him a look at the next level. Finally, he should star in this upcoming season with the Tigers.
QB Jackson Arnold – Oklahoma
Our first non-2025 eligible prospect is Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold, who has shown upside in his brief time with the Sooners. The second-year player made one start for the Sooners in 2023. Recently, he has already come out in force for 2024, matching his entire 2023 touchdown total in one single game.
Arnold threw four touchdowns and no interceptions in his 2024 debut for the Sooners, showing growth with his efficiency. With only two career starts under his belt, Arnold is still a bit of a mystery as an asset. We’ll have a more clear idea of his upside as the year goes on. For now, he appears to have the upside to be a top quarterback in his class from a tools perspective, and if he can succeed in the Sooners SEC transition, he should find his stock grow as time goes on.
While the 2025 NFL Draft class doesn’t look strong at this time, not many quarterbacks who are first eligible in 2026 are even starting right now. The jury is very much still out on the quarterback class in 2026, which makes Arnold an intriguing prospect we’ll learn a lot more about very soon.
WR Matthew Golden – Texas
We keep the SEC newcomers theme alive by taking a look at Texas wider receiver Matthew Golden. The former Houston Cougar is a true Junior in his first year for the Longhorns and has already found the end zone twice. Recently, the Longhorns just sent three wide receivers to the NFL this past season. They could very well do that with three more in the next couple of classes. Golden is very much in the Xavier Worthy “speedster with some twitch” mold, a player who can take any touch to the end zone with a bit of space.
With the Longhorns, Golden should be able to build rapport with talented quarterbacks all year and show his explosion with the ball. Overall, the 2025 class appears to once again be strong at the wide receiver position. Notably, with names such as Isaiah Bond (another Longhorn), Luther Burden, and Barion Brown. All are worthy of early picks.
Not only do the Longhorns boast Bond and Golden in their receiving core, but they also are gonna play 2026 touted receiver Johntay Cook quite a bit this upcoming year. All three should find their way on an NFL roster, and Golden’s speed should be on full display here in 2024. In the end, all should be on your Devy radar to some extent.
RBs Jaydon Blue and Jerrick Gibson – Texas
This will be our final discussion on the SEC. We will finish out the list by taking a look at two backs in separate conferences. Before we move on, it’s a good time to highlight the rushing competition that will take place in Austin this Fall.
The competition in Texas is between 2025 Draft-eligible Jaydon Blue and 2027-eligible Jerrick Gibson. Both RBs performed well in their 2024 debuts. Blue produced a stat line of 57 yards on 11 carries while providing an additional 37 yards on three catches. Naturally, Blue has spent three years in the Texas structure and has a more physical game than Gibson right now. However, Gibson was able to cobble 67 yards together on 10 carries while scoring a touchdown, cutting through the middle of the defensive line in the process.
Ultimately, Gibson’s long-term upside may be higher than Blue’s. It’ll be interesting to see how these touches hash out. While Blue is the incumbent with familiarity, Gibson is a five-star recruit who is likely to garner a great role for himself early on. This very well could be a Gibson backfield by the end of the year, giving him a formidable Devy boost long-term, even with the possible presence of the currently injured C.J. Baxter in 2026.
RB Ashton Jeanty – Boise State
Ashton Jeanty burst into 2024 with a bang. At this point, he’s looking like one of the top Devy players to have on your radar. He opened the season with a personal 6 touchdown thrashing of the Georgia Southern rushing defense. That isn’t unfamiliar domination for a player of Jeanty’s caliber. In total, he has a combined 21 touchdowns in his first two college seasons in Boise.
Furthermore, Jeanty has performed each year for the Broncos, rushing for at least 800 yards in both. In 2023, Jeanty showed outstanding receiving ability when he converted 43 catches into 569 yards, good for a 13.2-yard average. Additionally, he is only 20 years old. With those skills on display, he could very well challenge players such as Nick Singleton and Quinshon Judkins for the top running back in the 2025 class.
All in all, Jeanty is a playmaker with youth on his side. Whether he displays it on the ground or through the air, Jeanty is a well-rounded threat. With his initial six-touchdown game, Jeanty is no longer a hidden secret in any dynasty format or circle. More importantly, he is going to have an impact on Devy rosters for years to come.
RB Ollie Gordon – Oklahoma State
These last two running backs listed are much like the first two quarterbacks listed. Like Cook and Beck, both Jeanty and Ollie Gordon are high-level talents at their position. In the end, they could very well end up going top three in each position group.
Jeanty’s Week 1 performance could not be topped. However, Gordon did more than enough to handle the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. In the end, he would go for three rushing touchdowns while rushing for 126 yards. A strong resumption to his 2023 dominance in which he would score 21 touchdowns on the ground alone.
Gordon appears ready again to lead the Cowboys offense in 2024 with his dominant downhill rushing style. Both Jeanty and Gordon appear to be running backs who can handle a rushing and receiving workload at the next level. Before that, they will be important Devy lineup mainstays for managers this Fall.
Top Devy Players for 2025 – Final Thoughts
When it comes to prospects to watch in Devy and Campus to Canton, it’s obvious how important a player’s current opportunity is. A player such as Jerrick Gibson may have been looking at a year as a reserve before C.J. Baxter’s injury. However, he now could find himself on his own Ollie Gordon or Ashton Jeanty-type ascension if he can solidify his role.
Most of the players on this list will see an NFL opportunity, it just depends on whether they can transition their college dominance into a role for our pro fantasy teams as well. Hopefully, a few names on this list will transform and improve their games to further solidify their upcoming draft stocks. More importantly, further solidify their value for our Devy rosters going forward.
