Bijan Robinson 2024 Fantasy Outlook: A Path To The RB1

The 2024 fantasy football season is fast approaching and many drafts will be taking place in the next few weeks. One question being asked by many in the fantasy community is whether Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson can be the RB1 for the upcoming season. After a solid but unspectacular rookie season, will Robinson catapult to the upper echelons of running backs or will he forever be unrealized potential?

In this article, we’ll dive into Robinson’s 2024 fantasy football value, analyzing last year’s performance, his current team dynamics, and his potential for the upcoming season. We’ll explore his strengths, and potential red flags, and compare him to other elite running backs in the league.

Whether you’re contemplating drafting him early or trading for him in your dynasty league, this comprehensive analysis will help you make an informed decision on whether Robinson can truly reach the upper tier of fantasy football running backs this season.

RB Bijan Robinson Fantasy Value

Robinson is heading into his second season in the NFL, and could very well end the 2024 season as the RB1. Robinson was the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, taken by the Atlanta Falcons. Without a doubt, he has the talent and the opportunity to dominate and be the RB1 this year.

Last season, Robinson had almost 1500 total yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns. Yet he only had 214 rushing attempts and was just shy of 1,000 rushing yards. For some absurd reason, Arthur Smith felt the need to give Tyler Allgeier 186  and Cordarrelle Patterson 50 rushing attempts. Patterson is no longer on the team and I forsee the new coaching staff utilizing Robinson as their bell cow back.

Fantasy Football Outlook

Heading into this season, Bijan is being valued as the RB2 or RB3 overall, depending on where you get your rankings from. The Arthur Smith debacle is over with the Atlanta Falcons hiring new head coach Raheem Morris. Other than Christian McCaffrey and Breece Hall, Robinson might be one of the running backs with the highest ceiling. Personally, I am drafting Robinson over Hall.

Dynasty Football Outlook

In dynasty fantasy football leagues, a case can be made for Robinson to be the RB1 overall. There is a reason why the Falcons drafted Robinson last year with the eighth overall pick, and that is due to his enormous talent and potential to be a game-breaker. He has been tied to a talented offense and to decent quarterback play for years with Kirk Cousins and heir apparent Michael Penix.

Conclusion

Overall, Robinson is an extremely talented running back who has elite fantasy football upside. For both redraft and dynasty league purposes, Robinson can be your team’s RB1 and is an ideal candidate for the “hero running back” strategy. At only 22 years of age, Robinson can be the bell cow back on your team for years to come.
