Breece Hall 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

Breece-Hall-2023-Fantasy-Football-Outlook

Few players come into the league and show the elite skillset that Breece Hall did in 2023. He excelled in a situation with well below-average quarterback play and showed he could be the focal point of an offense. Unfortunately, just as Hall was starting to establish himself as the clear lead back, his rookie season was cut short due to an unfortunate knee injury.

That being said, Hall is the type of talent that can be a league-winning running back and be a force at the running back position for years to come. However, he does come with some question marks for 2023 given his injury as well as potential added competition. With that, let’s break down Hall’s fantasy football outlook for the upcoming 2023 NFL season.

Fantasy Football Outlook for 2023

Currently, Hall is the 11th RB being taken in drafts according to Fantasy Pros ADP. While this may seem steep, Hall is the type of talent who can meet such lofty expectations. As a rookie, Hall averaged nearly 6 YPC and among running backs with 70+ carries. Additionally, Pro Football Focus graded Hall first in their signature Elusiveness Rating among running backs. With the Jets upgrading to Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, Hall will surely see more run-friendly looks from defenses this year. Complicating matters though, the Jets’ apparent desire to sign Dalvin Cook could throw Hall’s 2023 role completely up in the air and would most certainly cap his ceiling.

As of this writing, Cook is not on the roster and Hall is the clear top back despite what concerns might exist. Hall may see his touches limited to start the year as the Jets slowly build up his load post-surgery, but this would not be dissimilar from the trajectory we saw during his rookie year. While we may have to be patient to start the season, Hall is the type of talent that can produce on limited touches and become a true difference-maker as the season progresses and his load increases.

Given the bump the Jets’ offense will receive with Aaron Rodgers coming to town, Hall could be in line for a special season. This upside alone makes Hall a player worth targeting. As long as Cook remains off the roster, Hall has the type of talent and opportunity in front of him that could lead to a league-winning season.

Dynasty Football Outlook

While Hall’s 2023 outlook is a bit murky, make no mistake… He is an immensely talented player who you should want on your dynasty fantasy football rosters. Few backs come into the league and show the type of vision, burst, explosiveness, and per-touch efficiency that Hall did in 2023. Though we might have to wait until 2024 and beyond to see his best, Hall is the type of player you can feel comfortable building your running back room around.

Overall, if someone wants to sell based on health concerns or the potential signing of 28-year-old Dalvin Cook, I will be knocking at their front door with a dozen red roses happily ready to buy. Hall is near the top of many dynasty fantasy football rankings, and rightfully so.
