Breece Hall 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook – Road To RB1

1

The 2024 fantasy football season is quickly approaching, and with it many fantasy football drafts. One player that is receiving a lot of hype, and deservedly so is New York Jets running back Breece Hall. Can Hall challenge Christian McCaffrey this year to be the RB1?

In this article, I’ll dive into Hall’s 2024 fantasy football value, analyzing last year’s performance, his team dynamics, and his potential for the upcoming season. We’ll explore his strengths and potential red flags. Whether you’re contemplating drafting him or trading for him in your dynasty league, this comprehensive analysis will help you make an informed decision on Hall.

RB Breece Hall Fantasy Football Outlook

In 2022, Hall only played in seven regular season games as he tore his ACL. Despite coming off a torn ACL and a subpar offense in New York, Hall finished the 2023 season as the RB4 in PPR formats. He rushed for 994 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 76 receptions and 591 receiving yards. Hall enters the 2024 season as a top-tier running back.

Breece Hall Fantasy Football Outlook

To the dismay of Jets fans last year, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was lost for the season during the first game of the regular season. On the fourth offensive snap for the team, Rodgers tore his Achilles, and the offense for the rest of the season, could never recover. An offense led by Zach Wilson, Tim Boyle, and Trevor Siemian was in no position to unleash Hall’s full potential. Which is scary considering he finished as the RB4.

A concern that some may have is a possible reduction in Hall’s receptions this year. Notably, Hall led all running backs last year with 76 receptions. It’s hard to predict the same amount of receptions for Hall this year, but I don’t foresee a drastic reduction either. During his career with Aaron Rodgers, former Packers back Aaron Jones caught 50+ passes three times. There may be a dip in receptions, but there could also be an uptick in touchdown possibilities as the Jets offense cannot be any more anemic than it was last year.

Hall will be the workhorse back this year for the Jets. The depth chart only consists of two rookies who were drafted this year in Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis and sophomore Israel Abanikanda. None of these backs pose a serious threat to Hall’s workhorse status.

Hall’s ADP is RB3 and ninth overall. If you want Hall on your team you will have to pick him in the first round but he is an ideal choice if you subscribe to the “Anchor RB Theory.”

Dynasty Football Outlook

Hall’s dynasty ADP is RB2, just behind Bijan Robinson and sixth overall. Trading for Hall may be a difficult proposition as his price tag is expensive. If you are a Hall owner, he is an excellent player to have to compete for a championship or to build around.

Hall showed last year that he can be an extremely productive back regardless of which quarterback is leading the offense. At only 23 years of age, Hall is back and can be the centerpiece of your dynasty team for years to come.

Conclusion

It’s difficult for me to predict anyone dethroning the RB1 from last year McCaffrey but Hall has the receiving upside needed to do so. With Rodgers returning from injury and an improved offensive outlook for the Jets, we could be seeing a new RB1 at the end of the 2024 season.
