Fantasy Football Outlook: Hopkins has been the center of trade talks over the past several months. However, his age, injury history, and contract made getting a deal done nearly impossible. Teams around the NFL were hesitant about making a move to bring in the All-Pro wideout for those aforementioned reasons, possibly with the hopes that an outright release was in the cards. Arizona decided to move on from Hopkins without a post-June 1 designation, eating $22.6 million.

Hopkins is now free to sign with any team. However, there are a few front runners. The star wide receiver recently said he’d love to catch passes from Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Justin Herbert.

While the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers already have a talented wide receiver unit, the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens would all benefit from adding Hopkins. However, the two most likely landing spots are the Bills and Chiefs.

Hopkins has a good standing relationship with several members of the Bills. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have a significant need at wide receiver, the top quarterback in the NFL, and are perennial Super Bowl contenders. A Super Bowl victory could all but lock up Hopkins to be an NFL Hall of Famer upon his eventual retirement from the league.

Meanwhile, Hopkins’ departure from Arizona means Marquise Brown takes over as the No. 1 wide receiver. He averaged 14.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game while operating as a WR1 over the first six weeks of the 2022 season when Hopkins was suspended.
