Chase Edmonds Signs With The Buccaneers – Fantasy Outlook
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are signing veteran running back Chase Edmonds to a one-year deal worth (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Football Outlook: Edmonds signing with the Buccaneers doesn’t do much for fantasy football purposes. Outside of potentially a handcuff, if you’re still into handcuffing running backs in fantasy football. As of now, this backfield still very much belongs to second-year running back Rachaad White after the release of veteran Leonard Fournette.
Signing this deal for just one year at the veteran minimum speaks plenty regarding how invested Tampa is in White. However, doesn’t take them out of the Bijan Robinson sweepstakes potentially as the pick 19th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Overall, it’s clear that they’re fairly confident enough in White to take on the lead role, as Edmonds will be more of a depth piece.
Edmonds is worth hanging onto in your deeper dynasty leagues, but that’s really it. He’ll need an injury to White to have much of any fantasy relevance. Not to mention, if Tampa Bay grabs a running back in the first three rounds, you can drop likely Edmonds.
