Scouting the Nation – 2 Trench College Football Prospects

Aidan Banfield OG North Carolina

It was easy to see from his first game against Minnesota that Aidan Banfield would be a legit NFL prospect. To start, as a true freshman is a big deal at the Power 4 level. Additionally, Banfield made a seamless transition to the collegiate game.

Furthermore, Banfield is explosive out of his stance, plays with low pad level, and has the grip strength to sustain blocks. It is rare to see a player as young as Banfield being able to displace defenders in the run game. However, there were several high-quality run-blocking reps on his film.

With Banfield’s foot quickness and ability to move, he’ll also have center versatility at the next level. A Freshman All-American this season, Banfield has the talent to develop into an All-American and a very good NFL prospect. In total, Banfield has three years of college football eligibility remaining.

Keeshawn Silver DT USC

A big-time get for the Trojans in the portal, Keeshawn Silver has immense size and power for a defensive tackle. Primarily playing as a defensive tackle, Silver uses his length and play strength to push the pocket as a rusher. Moreover, Silver can take on double teams, too, and is a stout run defender.

Personally, I thought he really took the next step as a player this season. As a result, he should be a breakout candidate as a key player on USC’s defense next season. Ultimately, the traits and flashes Silver consistently has on tape will make him a riser in the 2026 NFL Draft.
