Scouting the Nation – 2 Incoming Standout Junior Prospects

Austin Romaine LB Kansas State

Arguably the best tape of any returning linebacker in the country, Austin Romaine made his presence felt on every play last season. Impressively, he can fly to the ball with high-end explosiveness and instincts to shoot gaps. Additionally, Romaine has agility and loose hips, which make blockers miss and get to the ball carrier. With his athleticism, Romaine should also be able to be very impactful in coverage at the next level.

Romaine had 96 tackles and three forced fumbles last season. Next year, he has the potential to lead the nation in tackles and tackles for a loss. Additionally, Kansas State has had a nice string of defensive prospects as of late. Overall, Romaine has the talent to be the best of the bunch.

Kenny Johnson WR Pitt

A wideout with really impressive size, Kenny Johnson plays with great body control and strong hands at the catch point. Notably, he tracks the ball well downfield and has the speed to beat defenders vertically.

Furthermore, if the quarterback throws it in the vicinity of Johnson, he’ll make the play. This was on full display against West Virginia. Additionally, Johnson understands how to attack leverages to create separation and can win at all three levels. He should be the go-to target for the Pitt offense next season. Ultimately, Johnson projects as an early-career NFL starter on the outside and is a top CFB prospect that should be on your radar for this upcoming 2025 college football season.
