Devin White Requests Trade From Buccaneers – Fantasy Outlook

According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, linebacker Devin White of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has requested a trade. (Source: Jenna Laine on Twitter).

Fantasy Football Outlook: Heading into his fifth season in the NFL, White is one of the premier, young linebackers in the league. Recently, the Buccaneers re-signed veteran linebacker Lavonte David who has been a mentor for White since entering the NFL. White was the fifth overall pick back in the 2019 NFL Draft.

This news comes after about a month ago, White was posting some cryptic posts on social media. He then Tweeted that he was excited about another year with Tampa Bay after they picked up his fifth-year option for $11.7 million. Also, Tampa Bay would save $11 million in cap space for 2023 if theyd di trade White, which they desperately could use. Now, Laine has reported that White is “fed up”, likely regarding the lack of a long-term contract extension.

In your IDP fantasy football leagues, White has been the LB14 and LB18 in the last two seasons. Depending on your scoring, he’s been a solid option and at just 25 years old, has plenty of football left to play. In your dynasty IDP leagues, he’s still going to be one of the top players at the linebacker position.

In your typical redraft leagues with DSTs, the Buccaneers should still be a fine borderline top-12 or streaming option for 2023. They were the 23rd DST in 2022, after finishing inside the top 9 three seasons in a row before that.
