DFS Stacks: Week 3 Winners
Every NFL DFS main slate for the remainder of the season is going to be absolutely loaded with strong plays across the salary spectrum. If you are building lineups for tournaments, GPPs, or large contests, it is absolutely imperative that you practice the art of stacking. Whether it’s a game stack or pure team stack, having multiple pieces of the most fantasy-friendly games on the slate is the way to separate you from the pack and push your roster to the top. Here are my favorite stacks to target this week in DFS Stacks: Week 3 Winners.
With that in mind, here are some of the top stacks for the Week 3 main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. I will also throw in a contrarian option for each stack in case these plays prove to be too chalky. So fire up your Soulja Boy, because we’re about to dive into some stacks on stacks on stacks.
Kyler Murray + Chase Edmonds + ARI Def + Marvin Jones
With both Kyler Murray and Chase Edmonds on your roster, you will have 100% exposure to the most explosive offense in the NFL against one of the worst collections of defensive talent in the entire league. Through two weeks, the Jaguars have allowed the fifth-most points to the running back position and the 10th-most to quarterbacks. Murray has a cache of elite receivers to whom he can throw, so it could be maddening to try and deduce whether it will be DeAndre Hopkins, Rondale Moore, or Christian Kirk going off.
Adding the Arizona defense allows access to the dominating pass rush and also is set up to take advantage of the inevitable Trevor Lawrence miscues. Marvin Jones has been the one reliable offensive player for Jacksonville so far, and the Cardinals have proven they can certainly give up long plays and fantasy points through the air.
Contrarian Stack: DeAndre Hopkins + Rondale Moore + DJ Chark + James Robinson
Consistency Score: Running Backs
Consistency Score: Wide Receivers
Consistency Score: Tight Ends

Lamar Jackson + Marquise Brown + TJ Hocksenson
Considering the yards and points the Ravens have allowed in the first two weeks, this game evolved into a full-blown shootout over the past few days. The game total has now crossed 50 points, and even with the Ravens being eight-point favorites, we have seen the Lions battle in both games so far.
With Lamar Jackson, you know you’re likely getting an RB1 and a QB2 in one player. So his salary of $7,800 on DraftKings and $8,400 on FanDuel is simply too cheap. And based on what we have seen so far, Marquise Brown has been his go-to receiver in the first two contests. Brown is third in the NFL in target share among wide receivers and 12th in air yards share.
Not to be outdone, TJ Hockensen ranks fourth in target share and air yards share through two weeks. While the two Detroit running backs are equally splitting work, Hockenson has been the one reliable receiver for Jared Goff. If the Lions hope to stay close in this game, Hockenson will have to be heavily involved.
Contrarian Stack: Ty’Son Williams + BAL Def + D’Andre Swift
Matthew Stafford + Cooper Kupp + Chris Godwin
Last Sunday, one of the DFS themes quickly became “No Kupp, no cash.” Considering the defensive struggles Tampa Bay has had through two weeks and the gargantuan 38% target share Kupp has through two weeks, the smart (and popular) money will be on this duo again.
Antonio Brown‘s status is all of a sudden up in the air after a positive COVID test and Jalen Ramsey will likely blanket Mike Evans all game. That leads me to run it back with Chris Godwin, who along with Rob Gronkowski, should be very busy in this game with a 55-point total and one-point spread. This game opened with a 50-point total and has been bet up by the public expecting a shoot-out.
Don’t be left without any exposure to this one.
Contrarian Stack: Tom Brady + Rob Gronkowski + Robert Woods
Russell Wilson + Tyler Lockett + Adam Thielen/Justin Jefferson
You can certainly add or replace DK Metcalf to this game stack, but I think his early-week injury designation may keep some people away from him, making Metcalf a perfect GPP play. Lockett ranks fourth in the league in air yards, second in air yards share, and third in target share through two games. He and Wilson have a connection cooking in the early part of the season, so we have to hope they keep heating up against an exploitable Vikings defense.
Several busted coverages and big plays allowed can inflate the numbers allowed to opposing wide receivers, and that’s exactly what’s happened so far in Minnesota. They allow the third-most DFS points to opposing wide receivers and Lockett has the skills to burn this inexperienced secondary.
Of the two Vikings receivers, I think I prefer Jefferson this week. Yes, Thielen has the touchdowns, but Jefferson is the one who has drawn 49% of the team’s air yards so far at a strong 12.47 aDOT. This is the week some of these long bombs turn into touchdowns.
Contrarian Stack: Dalvin Cook + Adam Thielen + DK Metcalf
Other Interesting Stacks
Justin Herbert + Mike Williams + Clyde-Edwards Helaire + Travis Kelce – After medicore-at-best performances in their last games, Justin Herbert and Clyde Edwards-Helaire have very low DK salaries ($6,500 for Herbert, $4,800 for Edwards-Helaire). That just tells me you can easily fit them into a game stack with more elite players, and get a lot of exposure to this game with a 55-point implied total.
Nick Chubb + CLE Def + Allen Robinson – Justin Fields may come out and smash here, but I’m willing to take a tough front seven against a rookie quarterback in his first career start. That should correlate to a strong running game from Nick Chubb and plenty of targets to air yards if it happens that way. I think Fields has a very bright future, but this could be a tough first contest.
Daniel Jones + Saquon Barkley + Kyle Pitts – The Falcons just aren’t getting it done so far on defense in any way, shape, or form. Currently, they allow the most DFS points to the quarterback position and 12th-most to running backs. This is the lite beer version of the Carindale stack above, that will give you exposure to the whole Giants offense in an elite matchup. The Giants allow the fourth-most DFS points to tight ends and I believe this is the week Kyle Pitts finally finds the end zone.
