DJ Moore 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Another WR1 Year?
As we head into the end of the Summer, the fantasy football season is starting to heat up. This offseason we saw the Chicago Bears make perhaps the most drastic changes on offense in the entire NFL. However, they will be returning their top weapon in DJ Moore who is coming off a career year with highs in almost every category. In this article, I will take a look at Moore’s fantasy outlook for the upcoming season and beyond.
Read on to find out DJ Moore’s fantasy outlook now.
WR DJ Moore Fantasy Football Outlook
Moore is currently being drafted as the WR18 in FantasyPros consensus rankings. Last season he averaged 16.9 PPR points per game which put him as the WR6 overall. Now he gets a potential quarterback upgrade after the Bears selected Caleb Williams as the number one overall pick. Additionally, Chicago added veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen. Moore had a very good season with Justin Fields at quarterback but with Williams’ arm talent, the ceiling for Moore has not been reached.
DJ Moore 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Moore is in a crowded wide receiver room but his talent is unquestionable. He is not going to leave the field on two wide receiver sets and is without a doubt the alpha receiver on the Bears. Moore has been very good throughout his career despite not having the greatest quarterback play. Additionally, he has averaged 13.6 PPR points per game throughout his career. Safe to say, he is as quarterback-proof as you’ll find in the league and is a very safe pick at his current ADP.
As I said earlier Moore finished as the WR6 last season. For him to be getting drafted as the WR18 is a tremendous value. Don’t be scared off of him because of the rookie quarterback or the loaded receiver room. In the end, Moore should finish at the very least as a high-end WR2 with WR1 upside despite being a late third early fourth-round pick.
Dynasty Fantasy Football Outlook
For dynasty fantasy football purposes, Moore’s outlook is making him a bit of a value. Moore currently is under contract for at least the next two seasons with Chicago. Moore is still just 27 years old and should provide at least five more elite seasons. Furthermore, he is now tied to Williams for at least the next two seasons. Beyond that, there’s no reason to believe the Bears will not give him an extension potentially even next off-season which will only increase his value.
Moore is currently being drafted as the WR18 in FantasyPros dynasty rankings. I would be comfortable drafting him as high as WR15. While the Bears did take Rome Odunze in the draft in April this will more than likely be a 1A/1B situation in the coming years. Moore is still a great value at that ADP. With that being said if you are a rebuilding team, Odunze is currently being drafted one spot over Moore at WR17 and is the better pick for the future. Find out where Moore is in our latest dynasty rankings.
Conclusion
The Bears as a whole have very high expectations heading into the season. However, it seems as if Moore hasn’t been getting the hype he deserves. He is very much in the conversation as a top receiver in the NFL but has often gotten overlooked throughout his career. This season he is a very good value in all fantasy formats.
Ultimately, Moore gives you a great combination of a high floor and a high ceiling. There may be some ups and downs, but the explosion games will certainly be there. He will be a great safety net with tremendous YAC potential for the first-year quarterback, making him a very solid pick in your upcoming fantasy football drafts.
