5 Dynasty Buy-Low Candidates 2025: Players to Buy Now
When it comes to dynasty buy-low candidates, knowing when to buy a player is a critical skill in dynasty fantasy football, and it can make or break your team’s long-term success.
The challenge lies in deciding how long to hold onto a player and when to trade them at peak value. Timing is everything, and buying low on the correct candidates at the right time can give you a major edge. On the flip side, selling high on the right players at the right time can help you out immensely as well. Continue reading for my top 5 dynasty buy-low candidates for this off-season.
5 Dynasty Buy-Low Candidates for 2025
In this article, I’ll highlight five players who could be prime buy-low candidates. Take all of these with a grain of salt, as the 2025 NFL Draft is just around the corner. However, most of these takes are with the thought in mind that their perspective teams are likely more focused on drafting other positions higher in the draft. I’ll also be listing the current dynasty rankings from KeepTradeCut as of 2/21.
Chuba Hubbard RB Carolina Panthers RB19
First up is the underrated running back for the Carolina Panthers, Chuba Hubbard. Drafted back in 2021 in the 4th round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Hubbard has quietly been productive. More importantly, he’s coming off his best season to date. In total, he racked up 1,195 rushing yards with an impressive 4.8 YPC and 10 rushing touchdowns.
Last year, the Panthers drafted RB Jonathon Brooks in the 2nd round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Many fantasy football managers held onto him, waiting for him to come off his torn ACL from back in November of 2023 against TCU. Unfortunately, he tore the same ACL again in Week 14 against the Eagles. As a result, he is expected to miss the majority of the 2025 NFL season.
Personally, I couldn’t imagine any reason whatsoever why the Panthers would rush him back now. In the meantime, Hubbard will be the primary ball carrier and also signed a four-year deal for $33 million. This keeps the 25-year-old with them until he’s a free agent in 2029.
Jordan Whittington WR Los Angeles Rams WR74
Last year, the Los Angeles Rams selected Jordan Whittington in the 6th round of the NFL Draft. With two star wide receivers on this offense in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, the upside was low. Not to mention, the Rams have another wide receiver who has been periodically the WR3 on this offense, Tutu Atwell.
Moving forward, you can expect this offense to look much different. As of February 21st on DraftKings Sportsbook, Kupp’s next team is expected to be either the Denver Broncos, Washington Commanders, or the Detroit Lions. Meanwhile, his odds of staying with the Rams are at +1200. Finally, 30-year-old Demarcus Robinson was only on a one-year deal with the Rams last year. Tutu Atwell is the only one returning at this point.
Furthermore, Aaron Rodgers’ next team is projected to be the Rams, according to DraftKings. Needless to say, the future is uncertain of what exactly this offense will look like.
Last year, we had a few games without both Kupp and Nacua. In Weeks 4 and 5, he caught 6 of 8 targets for 62 yards and 7 of 10 for 89. Despite a run of games without a target, Whittington is one of the few experienced wide receivers who will be back with this offense. He was probably picked up off the waiver wire or with a few dollars of FAAB last year. With the hype coming of this 2025 NFL Draft class, you can probably pick up Whittington for a third-round rookie draft pick.
Trevor Lawrence QB Jacksonville Jaguars QB16
Next up is the 1st overall draft pick from the 2021 NFL Draft, Trevor Lawrence. Over the last couple of seasons, Lawrence has been a popular breakout candidate more often than not. With his obvious talent and a handful of very talented weapons on this offense, the upside is clearly there. However, while we’ve seen flashes and he has a QB8 and QB13 season under his belt, we haven’t quite seen him put it all together.
Moving forward, this might finally be the year it happens. The largest reason for this is the new head coach Liam Coen. Last year, we saw Coen and the Buccaneers’ offense blow up. Impressively, we saw Baker Mayfield put up career-highs, and he’s been the QB4 and QB10 in his last two seasons. Ultimately, his best season was last year with Coen.
Furthermore, Lawrence has second-year standout wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. to lean on. Travis Etienne had a disappointing 2024 season. However, he is still a very talented pass-catching back to go along with Tank Bigsby. Meanwhile, veterans Christian Kirk and Evan Engram are both free agents. Don’t be surprised if they make a splash in free agency with a wide receiver or draft some talent in the 2025 NFL Draft. Either way, Lawrence’s value is very low as of late, and Coen could easily help Lawrence put up his best season to date.
DK Metcalf WR Seattle Seahawks WR28
Entering his 7th season in the NFL, DK Metcalf is coming off his worst season in fantasy football since his rookie campaign. Back in 2019, he was the WR34, and this last year, he was the WR32 in PPR. Impressively, he was a WR1 back in 2020 and has since been a high-end WR2 consistently. Outside of last year, of course.
The main reason for this was the emergence of second-year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Last year, he was the WR9 in PPR scoring and looked like a legit WR1. Meanwhile, veteran Tyler Lockett is either going to get cut to save the team $17 million in cap space, or he’ll need to be signed to a new deal.
As for Metcalf, there have been rumors that he could be dealt in a massive trade this off-season. This comes without a ton of surprise after the emergence of Smith-Njigba and the potential out in Metcalf’s current contract. Whether you’re a fan of Geno Smith and this offense or not, this WR28 price tag is a bargain for a proven wide receiver in his prime.
Najee Harris RB Pittsburgh Steelers RB31
Finally, we have Najee Harris of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2024, Harris had the 7th-most rushing attempts for running backs with 263. That’s a fairly modest number for him as he’s seen 307, 272, 255, and 263 carries in his first four seasons. Additionally, he’s racked up at least 1,000 rushing yards every single year. Impressively, he has never missed a single game either.
Furthermore, Harris has been running behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL for the entirety of his career. He’s also the first running back since 2008 to rush for 1,000 yards in his first four NFL seasons. That makes him just the 14th player in NFL history to run for 1,000+ yards in his first four seasons in the league.
While these numbers sound nice, it’s no secret that Jaylen Warren looks good and Harris doesn’t exactly explode with the ball in his hands. However, the consistency and durability that he brings are both very underrated aspects of his game. Whether he stays in Pittsburgh or is dealt in a trade, Harris is a safe player with a solid floor. He is a good enough runner and blocker that he should have a long and successful NFL career. This price tag of RB31 is a bit disrespectful and makes him an intriguing buy-low candidate this off-season.
