Dynasty Players To Stash For 2024 And Beyond

As we head towards April’s NFL Draft, dynasty managers have already seen shake-ups in NFL depth charts with the free agency period. Players such as Calvin Ridley, Derrick Henry, and Saquon Barkley will have new homes in 2024, among multiple others.

These moves and corresponding draft picks will shape both those players’ past and the new team’s depth charts, leaving opportunities for younger players to break out. In this article, we’ll take a look at a few assets on the younger side that may see an increase in opportunity in 2024, while ascending in their NFL’s team depth chart and long-term outlook.

Dynasty Players To Stash In 2024

Michael Mayer

We’ll start with a player who leads his team’s position group already, Las Vegas Raiders starting tight end Michael Mayer. Mayer is going into his second season with the Raiders after multiple multi-catch performances in 2023. With the Raiders investing in Gardner Minshew this offseason and likely to continue adding at quarterback in the draft, there is likely to be an emphasis on the passing game with this roster going forward.

Mayer is the perfect stash candidate who may begin producing for fantasy as soon as this 2024 season, a la Trey McBride in his sophomore NFL season. Mayer won’t cost a ridiculous amount, plus he provides enough youth and talent to rise in tight-end rankings over the next few years.

Michael Wilson

Michael Wilson currently stands atop the Cardinals wide receiver depth chart, but it seems a foregone conclusion the Cardinals will be adding at the position multiple times in the 2024 draft. That investment could come as soon as 4th overall by selecting Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers.

Wilson had a solid rookie season despite missing some time due to injury, going for 565 yards on 38 catches. He showed playmaking ability and touchdown upside for us dynasty managers. With so much to fix on this Cardinals team, it shouldn’t be shocking when Wilson slots in as this team’s best or top-two receiver post-NFL Draft. Wilson could hold that role throughout his rookie contract for the Cardinals as they rebuild.

Chase Brown

The Cincinnati Bengals had a major shakeup in their backfield this offseason, shipping Joe Mixon to the Texans while bringing in Zack Moss to join Chase Brown. Brown began to establish himself in the receiving game in late 2023, finishing four of the last five Bengals games with at least two grabs a game.

Overall he finished the season with modest receiving stats, only going for 156 yards and a touchdown through the air during his rookie season. He did that on 14 catches, however, which led to a respectable 11.14 yards per catch. He had a small sample size, but with the departure of Mixon, we can expect Brown to take on more responsibility in this backfield.

Going forward, the discussion will likely be about Zack Moss having touchdown upside while Brown is a PPR threat from the backfield. Depending on how Moss backs up his impressive season with the Colts, Brown’s talent could eventually start cutting into the Moss workload as well.

Trey Palmer

Trey Palmer is our first deep stash on this list. Palmer is not currently expected to be a key fantasy contributor with names such as Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rachaad White leading this Buccaneers offense. Despite being lower on the depth chart in 2023, Palmer was still able to show skills that make him worth a stash throughout 2024. He scored three touchdowns in 2023, at least proving his scoring ability at the professional level.

With the talent ahead of him, Palmer is a stash to be hopeful for, while remaining realistic over the next 18 months. Palmer has the route running, speed, and IQ to be a playmaker at this level, but he will likely need a slight shift in the weapons around him before he becomes a consistent fantasy performer.

Jaleel McLaughlin

Jaleel McLaughlin proved to be a versatile depth piece for the Broncos during the 2023 campaign. The team didn’t have much offensive success across the board, but McLaughlin was able to work himself into a role multiple weeks after entering the league as a UDFA. He had 10 games in which he caught at least two balls for the Broncos, showing burst and the ability to get in the endzone, scoring twice.

McLaughlin has tough competition for the number two rushing role in Samaje Perine, but McLaughlin compliments Javonte Williams well and this team is focused on a rebuild currently. McLaughlin could find himself as a worthy best-ball dart to stash for the next few years. His home run-hitting speed should be able to squeeze into fantasy lineups as a flex option, even if he doesn’t ever take a sizable workload while in Denver.

Daniel Bellinger

The Giants appeared to be instituting Daniel Bellinger as the team’s top tight end during his 2022 rookie season. Then the 2023 offseason happened, in which the team acquired former Raiders tight end Darren Waller to take that lead role. However, with questions about Waller’s health and long-term status in the league, we could see a resurgence in the athletic Bellingers role once again in 2024.

Bellinger has caught at least 25 balls in each of his first seasons, maintaining a role despite the Giant’s lackluster passing game. The Giants likely need a change at the quarterback position for a few of these offensive weapons to ascend in fantasy. With the Giants sitting at the 6th overall pick, this may be the time to trade for a player like Bellinger.

Within a couple of months, Bellinger could be staring down a starting role with an exciting young quarterback throwing him the ball. Even if Waller is back with the team, that may be all the more reason to acquire a name like Bellinger for cheap and then wait.

Jonathon Brooks

This last stash for 2024 and beyond is a bit of a new perspective as we’ll be talking about NFL Draft prospect Jonathon Brooks, a player returning and rehabbing a torn ACL. Based on recent reporting, it appears Brooks may be healthy enough to take part in his new team’s training camp this summer. Brooks is a talent that would be going way earlier than he currently is had he not gotten injured, and would likely be in discussion as a talent on par with players such as Adonai Mitchell and Brian Thomas Jr. in rookie drafts.

However, Brooks is coming off that injury and is currently coming at a discount compared to his ceiling in the league. With the injury in mind, 2024 is likely not to be Brook’s year to break out, but by 2025 could find himself at or near the top of a team’s offense. He is a rusher with the talent to build around for 3-4 years, similar to Rachaad White from 2022. We saw what White was able to do following a year of learning behind Leonard Fournette, and Brooks could be on a similar path early in his career.

Dynasty Fantasy Football Stash Strategy

Locating and finding worthy stashes in fantasy all comes down to searching on a team’s depth chart and finding opportunities. When looking at players on our list, you have vacated carries in Cincinnati from the Mixon departure, as well as vacated targets in Arizona from Marquise Brown moving on.

These names who have secured certain roles in the league can see their roles grow or formulate in a new way, and that can result in a player surprising us with fantasy output(Kyren Williams and Rachaad White come to mind). The right stashes are the players that you acquire for a low price or are willing to pay up for if you see significant opportunities coming down the line.

Holding a player that eventually hits in fantasy is one of the most satisfying parts of this game, and it’s good to search out two or three players with untapped potential each fantasy offseason. When those chances pay off, you can find yourself with a much more valuable dynasty squad afterward.
