Eagles @ Buccaneers Wild Card Weekend: Player Prop Bets
Player prop lines are slowly coming out across the major sportsbooks and there are a few names to take advantage of early on before the numbers change.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Phialedpiha Eagles on Wild Card Sunday. While most are counting the Eagles out, they can keep it close, especially considering the weather in Tampa favoring Philly more so than the Buccaneers.
As of this writing, the powers-at-be at the weather station are projecting 19.9 MPH winds and 39% of precipitation with a 61 degrees temp at the time of kickoff at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
With the heavy winds, the weather favors the short passing game and rushing attack. My player prop picks will reflect this.
Current Lines:
Over/Under 45.5 Points
Buccaneers -8.5

Rob Gronkowski Over 55.5 Receiving Yards (-115 Caesars) 2 Units
With Antonio Brown out of the picture, Chris Godwin (knee) out for the year, and Cyril Grayson (hamstring) out for the game (probably — he is doubtful) — the Buccaneers will lean on Rob Gronkowski and Leonard Fournette in the short passing game, especially considering the Eagles will likely lock down Mike Evans.
Gronkwoski is a seasoned veteran with ample postseason experience playing with Tom Brady. I can stop here, but I know you need more context.
Gronk’s receiving yards line is set at 55.5 at FanDuel Sportsbook. He’s gone over that total in 7-of-12 games this season. He even ended one game — Week 3 agasint the Rams — with 55 on the dot. What’s more, Gronkowski has gone over that total in six of his past eight games since Week 11.
Gronkowski is not only getting the job done, but he’s also getting the opportunity. He’s logged 8+ targets in nine games this season, going Over 55.5 yards in eight of them. If he gets his normal volume, he is a lock to reach 56 yards.
While he is matchup-proof, his meeting with the Eagles is a favorable one. The Buccaneers have played the Eagles twice in the past two regular seasons and Gronk has missed both of those games.
However, he has played them twice in his career and hung 9/116/2 and 4/59/1 lines on them back when Gronkwosi was with the Patriots.
The Eagles have allowed the sixth-most receiving yards to tight ends in 2021 (1,035). Although they have only surrendered 55.5+ yards to six different individual tight ends in 2021, they were gashed by the best competition they’ve played and contained the bottom of the barrel tight ends.
Look for Gronkowski to pop on Sunday.

Leonard Fournette Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-130 FanDuel) 3 Units
This weekend is special. Sure, the NFL Playoffs are commencing, but we are also getting the return of Playoff Lenny. Leonard Fournette missed the final four games of the regular season with a hamstring injury. While he was activated from the injured reserve list this week, the Buccaneers are suggesting he will be a game-time decision and is not a lock to play.
I am not buying it. Per longtime Buccaneers beat writer Greg Auman, Fournette’s practice activity on Friday is hinting toward a Sunday return.
Fournette was a beast in 2021. He was deployed as an every-down back and had a nose for the end zone.
While in the first four games of the year, Fournette did not score a single touchdown, he began to get going in October. In 10 games since Week 8, Fournette scored a total of 10 times, including two trips across the goal line in Week 6 against the Eagles.
In a win-or-go-home matchup, I don’t see Bruce Arians trusting Ke’Shawn Vaughn and Le’Veon Bell. Bank on Fournette not only playing but picking up where he left off before injuring his hammy.
I like Fournette to get at least one touchdown facing an Eagles defense that has ceded five touchdowns to running backs in their past four games since Week 15.
Leonard Fournette Over 62.5 Rushing Yards (-114 FanDuel) 2 Units
I am going to keep pounding Leonard Fournette. This time, I like him to go over his 62.5 rushing yards total which you can find at FanDuel. Other books have him up to 65.5 yards, so why not take the lowest option to be safe.
While the Eagles have been outstanding at defending the pass, you can run all over their defense. The Eagles ended 2021 surrendering the ninth-most rushing yards per game to enemy backs (107.9). And when Fournette played them back in Week 6, he rushed for 81 yards and two scores on 22 attempts. He also hauled in all six of his targets for another 46 yards.
Look for Fournette to be the focal point of the offense once again on Sunday.
Fournette has rushed for 63+ yards in six of his past 11 games. There would have been more, but let’s face it, he played on an offense where their quarterback attempted over 700 passes this season. Fournette is more than capable.
The Buccaneers leaned on Fournette last postseason and he ran them to a Super Bowl. If it’s not broken, why try to fix it?
