Fantasy-Baseball-Waiver-Wire-Week-10
We are officially into June!  We are two months into the regular season and have seen many call-ups so far. Royce Lewis is the big one this week with the potential of Elly De La Cruz to follow. This is the time to be aggressive on the waiver wire, especially if you are in a roto league and in the middle of the pact.
Overall, you need to be aggressive and get your targets. Also, send some trade offers out!  Several buy-low opportunities are out there such as Sandy Alcantara and Corbin Burnes even. Let’s get right into it with the top options off the waiver wire in fantasy baseball right now.

Waiver Wire Hitters

Royce Lewis, 3B/SS, Minnesota Twins

The number one pick of the 2017 draft is here and he has been great to start the season. An absolute must-add if he is on the waivers in your league. In three games, he has hit two home runs, and batted in six RBIs. and is batting 308. Royce Lewis has a very high ceiling and has 3B and SS eligibility depending on your league’s settings. This is the top priority add this week if he is a free agent in any league.
Zach McKinstry, 3B, Detroit Tigers

Zach McKinstry has taken off this month. He has played in 47 total games, but of late, he has been outstanding. He is batting .288 on the season with four home runs to ten RBIs. Furthermore, he has stolen 10 bases as well. His on-base percentage is .400. McKinstry has been batting at leadoff for the Tigers and has been excelling out of that spot. Who knows how long this streak can maintain, but McKinstry is a must-add right now.

Willi Castro, OF, Minnesota Twins
Another speed option on the waiver wire is Willi Castro. Castro has played in 44 games this season, but he has begun to see everyday playing time. He has four home runs to eleven RBIs on the season while batting .280. To top it off, he has 10 stolen bases as well. The stolen bases and the everyday playing time makes Castro a great deep league add.
Nick Pratto, 1B/OF, Kansas City Royals
Nick Pratto has been having a very good season so far for the Royals. Pratto was blocked at first base by Vinnie Pasquantino but has found time in the outfield. Pratto is batting .295 on the season with a .398 on-base percentage. He has two home runs, a stolen base, and 13 RBIs so far on the season. The Royals have been batting Pratto out of the leadoff spot a lot this past week, and the results have been very good so far.
Bryan De La Cruz, OF, Miami Marlins
The likelihood of Bryan De La Cruz being a free agent is slim in many leagues. That being said, if he is, he certainly needs to be rostered. De La Cruz is batting .295 on the season with seven home runs and 23 RBIs. He has three stolen bases as well. The Marlins play the Athletics this weekend, and the Royals next week.

Waiver Wire Pitchers

Ben Joyce, RP, Los Angeles Angels
Ben Joyce made his major league debut, and it was memorable. Almost every one of his pitches was over 100 MPH in two innings of relief. He struck out four batters, Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez included. Right now it seems as if Joyce is the primary holds target for the Angels while Carlos Estevez has the closing role. However, anything could change. Overall, Joyce provides some good upside for those in search of ratios help.
Griffin Canning, SP, Los Angeles Angels
Another Angel makes this list. Griffin Canning has quietly come back from his injury history and has been very reliable on the mound as of late. This season he does have an inflated 4.89 ERA, but he has been pitching well recently. On May 4 and May 10 against the Cardinals and Astros, he gave up a combined 10 runs in 8.2 innings. Since then, he has pitched 18.1 innings and given up six runs to the Orioles, Red Sox, and White Sox. His next two starts are lined up at Houston, and home for Seattle. Finally, he recently struck out nine batters against the White Sox.
Ben Lively, SP, Cincinnati Reds
Ben Lively has been pitching great of late. He has a 1.99 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP. He also has three wins, a quality start, and 24 strikeouts in 22.2 innings. He most recently threw 5.2 shutout innings against the Red Sox, striking out six batters. Now, his next start is Sunday against the Brewers. Then, he lines up against the Cardinals and Royals.

Adbert Alzolay, RP, Chicago Cubs

A new closer? Adbert Alzolay worked a two-inning save against the Rays this week, and he got the save nod over closer Mark Leiter. We may have a closer by committee here, but Alzolay is an excellent speculative add if you need saves. He has a 2.33 ERA on the season with a 0.89 WHIP. Additionally, he has 26 strikeouts in 27.0 innings.
A.J. Smith-Shawver, RP, Atlanta Braves
The Braves called up A.J. Smith-Shawver this week. He is 20 years old but has dominated in the minor leagues. He had a 1.09 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and was known for his strikeouts in the minors. Right now he looks like he will be working out of the bullpen. However, he has the upside to spot start and could grab a permanent role if he pitches like he did in the minors.
Minor League stash options this week are headlined by Elly De La Cruz. Elly is a top-tier prospect that would rank above Royce Lewis and Jordan Walker in my opinion. He has teased a promotion all week, and he has to be close. If you have the space it would be smart to stash Elly now.
