Starting your superstar players every week, regardless of the matchup, is an easy call. However, what about the rest of your roster? Let’s get right into the picks.
Fantasy Football Deep Sleepers Week 14
Many believe that the most frustrating part of fantasy football is setting your lineup each week. Everyone hates seeing a player you almost started go off on your bench, leading to your opponent taunting you all weekend. This is part of the reason why best ball leagues have gained so much popularity.
Starting your superstar players every week, regardless of the matchup, is an easy call. However, what about the rest of your roster?
Let’s look at 5 deep sleepers for fantasy football in Week 14.
Cooper Rush QB – Dallas Cowboys vs. Cincinnati Bengals
First up for these Week 14 deep sleepers is Cooper Rush of the Dallas Cowboys. This week, the Cowboys will host the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football. Despite the struggles of this team, the offense still has CeeDee Lamb, whom Rush can lean on. In the last three games, Lamb has 12, 12, and 6 targets.
In three straight weeks, Rush has scored 13 or more fantasy points, with two weeks where he had 20 or more points. Notably, he finished as the QB10 on the week against Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders back in Week 12.
This week, Rush takes on one of the worst defenses in the league in the Bengals. Despite the red-hot offense with Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, this defense is awful and is the 30th-ranked pass defense in the league.
Rostered in just 10% of leagues on Sleeper, Rush is certainly a deep sleeper for Week 14. While Will Levis is the chalk streaming option off the waiver wire this week, Rush is rostered in fewer leagues and has just as much upside in a juicy matchup.
Travis Homer RB – Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers
With just three carries on the entire season, Travis Homer looks like he’s in line for the RB2 role in Week 14 for the Bears. D’Andre Swift (quadriceps) and Roschon Johnson (concussion) are both dealing with injuries. Johnson has already been ruled out, making way for Homer to step into the RB2 role as Swift is trending toward playing.
While Swift is leaning towards being active, Homer will step in as the RB2 with plenty of upside this week. With the injury, expectations should be tempered for Swift. Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers defense is weak against the run this year and is dealing with a plethora of injuries. Additionally, Swift has struggled in the last two weeks, taking 13 carries for 30 yards and 11 carries for 39 yards last week. He did have 35 receiving yards in both, but between the injury and struggles as of late, Homer should be the next man up.
As of Sunday morning, Homer is rostered in just 12% of leagues on Sleeper. Don’t be surprised if Homer ends up having a solid Week 14 performance.
Sincere McCormick RB – Las Vegas Raiders @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
A running back who also may be a deep sleeper in Week 14 is Sincere McCormick of the Raiders. The third-year running back has just 17 career carries. However, he put up 64 yards on just 12 carries last week against one of the best rushing defenses in the NFL in the Chiefs. Additionally, he caught both targets thrown his way.
This week, McCormick and the Aidan O’Connell-led Raiders are on the road against the Buccaneers. They also have a below-average run defense this year against opposing running backs. Zamir White is already out this week but was probably dropped a while ago considering how much of a bust he’s been this year. Additionally, Alexander Mattison has an ankle injury and is unlikely to play. As a result, McCormick could get a very nice workload this week which makes for a desperation Flex play.
Rostered in just 11% of leagues on Sleeper, McCormick is a deep sleeper this week if you’re in a pinch. Don’t expect too much as this pick could end up flopping, but everything is lining up for McCormick to get plenty of work this week against a struggling defense.
Ray-Ray McCloud WR – Atlanta Falcons @ Minnesota Vikings
Coming off a season-high 95-yard performance against the Chargers, Ray-Ray-McCloud and the Falcons face the Vikings in Minnesota. This is the Kirk Cousins revenge game we’ve been waiting for. Despite looking pretty awful as of late, don’t be shocked if Cousins comes in and plays his best game of the year in Week 14.
Rostered in just 23% of Sleeper leagues, McCloud is a deep sleeper for Week 14. Notably, he’s had back-to-back games with 6 six targets. This week, he gets the Vikings who have given up 14 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers in the past 9 games. If you’re dealing with injuries or struggling with the massive bye week, McCloud is a fine Flex option in Week 14.
Chig Okonkwo TE – Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Last on our Week 14 deep sleepers is Chig Okonkwo of the Tennessee Titans. While Levis is a popular streaming option, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is also one. However, someone who is a bit deeper of a sleeper would be Okonkwo. This Jaguars defense is brutal and gives up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends in the NFL.
In four career games against the Jaguars, Okonkwo has scored twice. If you’re desperate for a sleeper tight end this week, he’s not a terrible streaming option in deeper leagues. With a potential “boom” spot for Levis this week and the Titans offense, Okonkwo could end up being one of the weapons on this offense that gets a few extra opportunities.
