In order to stay on top of your fantasy football leagues, it’s vital to know when to buy low or sell high on players. The trade deadline is probably approaching in your leagues and now is a great time to improve your roster. Continue reading for my buy low sell high Week 10 picks.
Buy – Anthony Richardson QB Indianapolis Colts
Yes, I know, Anthony Richardson tapped out and was benched for Joe Flacco. Who then played like he was a soon-to-be 40-year-old against one of the worst pass defenses in the Minnesota Vikings. Flacco’s age has finally begun to show. Meanwhile, with Richardson’s youth and upside, the Colts should soon realize he’s the strongest option for them moving forward. At least to see if he can improve.
More importantly, this makes him a solid buy low candidate for your fantasy football rosters. With some solid matchups coming up like the Jaguars, now might be a good time to go out and try to acquire Richardson.
Sell – JK Dobbins RB Los Angeles Chargers
The volume of 126 carries for JK Dobbins was unexpected, to say the least. Especially for a running back coming off another injury to the same leg that plagued his entire career. Additionally, Gus Edwards getting placed on IR was not something the Chargers were planning on either.
Moving forward, look for rookie Kimani Vidal to get involved more. Additionally, Edwards could come back in the next week or two. Personally, I’d look to sell high on Dobbins while his value is still so high.
Buy – Kyler Murray QB Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray is coming off a stretch of poor performances and hasn’t looked like himself. As the season starts heating up, expect him to lean more on his stud rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and his talented tight end Trey McBride.
Looking ahead, the Cardinals get a run of “easy” matchups which should help him out. He gets the Seahawks twice, the Patriots, and the Panthers. Murray being a top-5 quarterback for the remainder of the season isn’t out of the question. Ultimately, this could make Murray a solid buy low option in your fantasy leagues.
Sell – Sam LaPorta TE Detroit Lions
Last season, Sam LaPorta scored the most points at TE largely due to his touchdown production. We’ve seen that receiving touchdowns can be tough to predict in the NFL. Not to mention, he had one game alone where he scored three touchdowns against the Broncos.
However, this season, the Lions’ passing volume has averaged less than 30 attempts per game. Additionally, Jared Goff has been extremely efficient going to other weapons. As a result, LaPorta has been a massive bust based on his draft stock. At this point, I don’t see it coming together for LaPorta this year. Maybe NFL offenses didn’t have any film to go off of and now they do.
Buy – Parker Washington WR Jacksonville Jaguars
While there’s not much to like about the Jacksonville offense this season, Parker Washington has shown flashes of being a competent wide receiver. With the season-ending injury to Christian Kirk and the inconsistency of Gabe Davis, Washington could get more involved sooner rather than later. Not to mention, the eyes of opposing defenses focus on talented rookie Brian Thomas Jr. and veteran TE Evan Engram.
Furthermore, Washington gets a few favorable matchups coming up with the Vikings, Lions, and Texans. With how bad the Jaguars have been, they’ll probably be down a lot and need to throw more as well. Look for the second-year wide receiver to get more involved moving forward.
Sell – Chris Olave WR New Orleans Saints
This one pains me to write because we all had high hopes for Chris Olave. He was being drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round of many fantasy football drafts this past offseason. With the way he played the first two weeks, it appeared that Olave was primed for a big season. Unfortunately, that just hasn’t been the case.
With the return of Derek Carr and possibly the return of Rashid Shaheed, now might be a good time to sell Olav. If you can. Between being on an offense that just fired its head coach and Derek Carr setting his wide receivers up to get hurt, it’s not great. I’d sell Olave for what you can right now on name-value alone.
Buy – Josh Palmer WR Los Angeles Chargers
This year, Josh Palmer has been one of the few trusted route runners on the Chargers. Between his health and his role on this offense, he’s been playing like the healthy version of himself that we’ve seen in the past at times. Combine that with a heavy play action offense and a quarterback with limited trusted options, and we can expect big things from Palmer down the stretch. More importantly, into the fantasy football playoffs.
Sell – Tyler Lockett WR Seattle Seahawks
With DK Metcalf sidelined with a knee injury, Tyler Lockett has been stepping up over the last few weeks. He’s shown he has a bit of juice left, but it’s certainly nothing like he used to have. Meanwhile, second-year WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba has emerged and reminded us just how talented of a prospect he was coming out.
When you look at everything happening on this Seahawks offense, there isn’t a ton of upside for Lockett anymore. With Metcalf returning soon and Smith-Njigba solidifying his role, Lockett will slowly get phased out. It might not be for much but sell Lockett for whatever you can get.
Buy – Audric Estime RB Denver Broncos
Recently, Audric Estime’s role has slowly gone up, rushing for a career-high 35 yards last week. Not great numbers, but he has been efficient and it appears the Broncos are getting him a bit more involved. Meanwhile, Javonte Williams is proving to be more efficient as a pass-catching back and has been a bit disappointing this year. If anything were to happen to Williams or Jaleel McLaughlin, Estime would see a big increase in his workload.
