Cam Skattebo Strengths
Skattebo is a tough physical back who is an outstanding downhill runner. He has exceptional balance after contact and is extremely hard to bring down on first contact. Additionally, he is an underrated receiving option in the passing game and can stay in the pocket to protect the quarterback. Impressively enough, he was second on his team in receptions (45) with Arizona State.
Last year with the Sun Devils, Skattebo had over 2,300 rushing and receiving yards with 24 touchdowns, clearly showcasing his workhorse capability. Overall, there are plenty of reasons to get excited about Skattebo and his future in the NFL.
Cam Skattebo Weaknesses
Skattebo won’t amaze anyone with his athleticism. He lacks the burst and explosiveness to pull away from defenders and is not a home run threat. Unfortunately, he is not considered to be a “twitchy” athlete unlike other backs who were selected ahead of him in the draft. Skattebo, also happens to be a bit older for a running back prospect. Recently, he just turned 23 in early May.
Cam Skattebo Fantasy Football Outlook in 2025
Skattebo could very well be the Giants volume back that they have been searching for since they let Saquon Barkley walk in free agency. There is also a distinct possibility that he will form an ugly three way committee with sophomore Tracy Jr. and veteran Singletary.
Currently, Skattebo is being ranked as a mid RB4 behind teammate Tracy Jr. This means he could be drafted anywhere from round 9 and beyond. Like many rookie offensive players, Skattebo may struggle early in the season and be part of a committee. If Skattebo were to break out and separate himself from his competition, it probably won’t be until the latter half of the season.
Cam Skattebo Dynasty Outlook
In dynasty, Skattebo is currently looked upon as mid RB3. Depending on the format and league you are in, he is being drafted anywhere between the late 2nd round and early 3rd round pick in rookie drafts. In our latest Superflex rookie ADP, he’s looking ike a nice value.
There are some in the fantasy football industry who are very high on Skattebo and would select him with an early 2nd-round rookie pick. If you are in need of a running back, Skattebo may be a gamble worth taking a chance on. Especially, considering the fact that Tracy Jr. was a late 5th-round pick in 2024 and Singletary is set to be a free agent at the end of the season. Ultimately, the fantasy football outlook for Skattebo in 2025 and beyond is promising.
