Jaylen Wright Fantasy Football Outlook 2025: Zero RB Sleeper

0

With the upcoming 2025 fantasy football season just around the corner, now is a great time to check out some sleeper candidates. Second-year running back Jaylen Wright of the Miami Dolphins could be a sleeper this year. More importantly, he could be a solid option for the “Zero RB” fantasy managers. Today, I’ll break down the Jaylen Wright fantasy football outlook for 2025.

Jaylen Wright Fantasy Football Outlook 2025

Despite being behind one of the most explosive and exciting young running backs in the NFL, Jaylen Wright offers interesting upside. De’Von Achane is a weapon and is widely being drafted with top-five upside. However, for fantasy football purposes, both could be productive this year.

Moving forward, Wright is poised to take over the Raheem Mostert role in Miami. As expected, the production of both Wright and Achane will hinge somewhat on Tua Tagovailoa’s health. That’s something we saw clearly when Achane’s numbers dipped during Tagovailoa’s absence. Ultimately, there’s major fantasy upside if Tagovailoa stays healthy for a full 17-game season.

Wright should see a significant increase in opportunity, forming a dangerous 1-2 punch with Achane. Similar to what the Mostert-Achane duo did in 2023. He’s an underrated, explosive back with legit size and blazing speed. All in all, that would be ideal for Mike McDaniel’s scheme.

Furthermore, let’s not forget that the Dolphins traded up in Round 4 of the 2024 NFL Draft for Wright. They gave up future draft capital they could hardly afford, considering all the holes on their roster. Additionally, they were already deep at running back. At first, the move felt puzzling. Why was Miami so eager to get this guy?

When you turn on the tape, the 4.3 speed and explosiveness jump off the screen. Personally, I think McDaniel saw something potentially special. Notably, Wright reminds me of a young Alvin Kamara. I was high on him last year, maybe that was just a year too early.

While Achane is incredibly talented, he’s not the biggest back. Unfortunately, the risk of injury is always there. Wright gives them a home run hitter with more size. In the end, he’s someone who could step in and take over if that happens.

For fantasy football, if you’re a “Zero RB” truther, Wright is an outstanding late-round target in redraft leagues. Additionally, in dynasty startup drafts, he’s going very late. This makes him a fantastic value pick with real upside. With an ADP landing him in the 16th round, he’s a dream target for anyone chasing high-upside late-round value. Draft Jaylen Wright for fantasy football in 2025 as an intriguing sleeper candidate.
