Jordan Mason Fantasy Football Outlook 2025: Zero RB Target

Zero RB truthers, this one’s for you. Let’s talk about one of the biggest steals in fantasy football drafts this year: Jordan Mason. Today, I’ll break down the Jordan Mason fantasy football outlook for 2025.

Jordan Mason Fantasy Football Outlook 2025

If you were following me last year, you know I was pounding the table for Mason as the top handcuff in fantasy football. Now? He’s more than a stash—he’s a potential league-winner.

Let’s break it down:

Only 5 running backs in 2024 had 150+ carries AND averaged over 5.0 YPC:

  • Saquon Barkley
  • Jahmyr Gibbs
  • Bucky Irving
  • Derrick Henry
  • Jordan Mason

Ultimately, that’s elite company.

The Vikings didn’t just sign Mason. They traded picks to get him, moving Mason from one elite zone scheme (49ers) to another. More yet, a team with a better offensive line. Then they paid him a 2-year $10 million contract. That’s not backup treatment.

Furthermore, in 2023, Mason ranked 3rd in the NFL in Rushing Yards Over Expected per Attempt. Notably, that was behind only Henry and Barkley. He also earned a 93.0 PFF rushing grade—the highest of any running back in 2023. Of his 270 rushing yards, 190 came after contact. Ultimately, his 4.22 YAC ranked 2nd in the league.

At just 25 years old, Mason has workhorse size, elite efficiency, and top-tier vision. More importantly,  now he’s paired with a reloaded Vikings offense. He’s projected as the 1B. However, he’s behind a 31-year-old Aaron Jones, who consistently deals with injuries.

Kevin O’Connell is no fool. He’ll use the better back if Mason earns it, which all signs point to happening. At worst, he’s in a 50/50 split, taking on the goal-line and early-down work until Jones misses time.

Ultimately, with an ADP of 120, Mason is the ultimate “Zero RB” target. The upside at that price is worth smashing every time. All in all, Mason’s fantasy football outlook for 2025 is very intriguing.
