Fantasy Football Rankings and Tiers | Quarterbacks – Week 5

0

Week 4 saw the return of Baker Mayfield to QB1 status (he ended up as the QB2 for the week and was my “Start of the Week” in my fantasy football rankings and tiers for Week 4). It also saw the continued maturation of Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Sam Darnold also continued to perform exceptionally well for the Minnesota Vikings and reminded New York Jets fans why the team selected him with the 3rd overall pick in the 2018 rookie draft.

Off to Week 5 and the beginning of the bye week which means no Jalen Hurts and Jared Goff. Oh, that also means no Will Levis or Justin Herbert but you aren’t that desperate for a starting quarterback are you? Here you will find my top 12 Fantasy Football QB rankings and tiers for Week 5. Each week, I’ll separate them into tiers along with one “Start of the Week.”

Week 5 Fantasy Football QB Rankings: Start of the Week

Geno Smith vs. New York Giants

Chef Geno continues to get no respect from the fantasy community. Well, I see you Geno and I am putting some respect on your name. Smith for the year is QB8 and is coming off a QB1 performance against the Lions in Week 5 and looked impressive doing so.

This week the Seahawks go up against a Giants team that is struggling mightily and even allowed Deshaun Watson to throw multiple touchdowns against them in Week 3. I don’t expect a huge passing day from Smith this week, but 250 passing yards along with two touchdowns is well within his reach.
