Week 13 Fantasy Football RB Rankings: Start of the Week
Kyren Williams at New Orleans Saints
A lot of the advanced metrics point to Kyren Williams not having a great season. He is averaging 4.0 yards per carry, for running backs with a minimum of 100 snaps. Unfortunately, this ranks him 24th in the league. Additionally, Williams hasn’t scored more than 11.5 fantasy points since Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings.
While all this may be true we should only care about this coming week. The Rams play against the New Orleans Saints who are the 8th worst rushing defense. Notably, conceding an average of 134.2 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns overall.
In Week 9 Chuba Hubbard scored just under 20 fantasy points against the Saints. After that, in Week 10, Bijan Robinson against the Saints was the RB1 for the week with 26.4 fantasy points. Don’t be shocked if Williams is the RB1 overall this week.
It may be time for the Rams to give their prized rookie Blake Corum more touches in the offense. However, head coach Sean McVay doesn’t think so. Last week Williams played on 91% of the Rams’ offensive snaps. Only twice this year has Williams dipped below 80% and both times he was a 79%.
In honor of Thanksgiving to my American friends down south this week, look for Williams to feast on the New Orleans Saints and finish as a top-12 running back. Williams is certainly a stud and someone you need to start, but don’t be shocked if he’s THE RB1 overall in Week 13.
