Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10: Quarterbacks

START – Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears

After a couple of down weeks, many fantasy managers may be having second thoughts about the first overall draft pick. However, he’s thrown just one interception in his last five games. Additionally, he has rushed for at least 34 yards in three of his last four games.

For Week 10, rookie Caleb Williams will have a “get right” matchup with the Patriots. They have surrendered at least two passing touchdowns in three of their last four games and the 9th-most yards per attempt (7.57) on the season.

START – Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons

The last time Cousins faced the New Orleans Saints was back in Week 4. Since then, Cousins has thrown for three or more touchdowns in three of five games and completed 72.2% of his passes. He has also thrown 9 touchdown passes in his last three divisional games. With the Saints having shipped off their head coach and best pass defender in the last few days, we’re likely to see Cousins continue to upstage his divisional opponents. You can start Cousins in fantasy this week.

SIT – Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

In regards to fantasy production, Murray has been fine. He’s thrown at least one touchdown pass in each of his first eight games and three interceptions on the season. Additionally, he’s led the Cardinals to a winning record and first place in the NFC West. On the downside, he has failed to achieve 20 rushing yards in three of his last four games. Unfortunately, this is a trait that fantasy managers expect him to excel at. And rightfully so.

In the seven games when Murray has thrown for less than 260 yards, he has registered one or fewer passing scores. Now with a tough matchup against the Jets and no pass catcher other than Trey McBride giving any consistency, we should lower our expectations until Murray proves us wrong. At this point, you might leave Murray on your bench and sit ’em in Week 10.

Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10: Running Backs

START – Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants

Since taking on the lion’s share of backfield touches, Tracy has been outstanding. In that five-game span, he is averaging 5.4 yards per carry and has eclipsed 100 total yards three times. This week, he’ll meet the Panthers who have surrendered the most rushing yards (1434), the most rushing touchdowns (15), and have the most desirable D-PAC Score (11.8) in the NFL. You need to force Tracy into your lineups this week.

START – Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers

Warren is continuing to see solid usage this season. He has at least nine touches in four of his last five games played. Recently, in his last two games, he has had at least 11 touches and reached 59 combined yards. In Week 10, he’ll face a Washington defense that is the 9th-best fantasy matchup for running backs, based on D-PAC Score, and has given up at least 99 rushing yards to running backs in each of their last four games. Start em.

SIT – Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars

Bigsby has shown flashes of greatness in his sophomore season. Twice this year, he has tallied more than 100 rushing yards and two touchdowns. However, the return of Travis Etienne could eat into his workload. Bigsby has almost no involvement in the Jaguars passing game. Not to mention, this week’s battle is with Minnesota, who has allowed the fewest rushing yards (655) and rushing touchdowns (3) this season. If he continues to dominate backfield touches, we could look to him again next week.

SIT – Kareem Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs

The re-emergence of Hunt back in Kansas City has been a pleasant surprise. Impressively, he has had more than 80 total yards in four of his five games. Additionally, he has racked up five touchdowns. The efficiency hasn’t been there as he is averaging 3.7 yards per carry on the season and just 5 yards per reception in his last three games.

In Week 10, he’ll face off with a daunting Denver defense that is allowing just 3.98 yards per carry. Notably, that’s the 5th-fewest in the NFL this year. As Hunt was likely a mid-season acquisition, you should have another viable option at your disposal and you might sit ’em in Week 10.

Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10: Wide Receivers

START – Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings

Since returning from injury in Week 4, Addison has surpassed 65 receiving yards and scored a touchdown or both in three of his last five contests. In those five games, he is averaging 15.9 yards per reception.

For Week 10, the Jaguars will play host to the Vikings. They’ve been extremely friendly to opposing fantasy wide receivers. They have allowed the second-most receiving yards (2502), the second-most receiving first downs (119), and the most receiving touchdowns (19) in 2024. I’m expecting some early-game fireworks from the Minnesota passing game this week.

START – Xavier Legette, Carolina Panthers

The Panthers’ rookie wide receiver Xavier Legette started the 2024 campaign slowly. However, he has been a viable fantasy option in recent weeks. Clearly, there has been a budding relationship brewing between Legette and Bryce Young over the last two games. Legette was targeted 13 times in those games.

A trip across the pond for a matchup with the Giants looks to provide further optimism in Week 10. The Giants are currently sporting the third-best D-PAC ScorF against wide receivers and they’ve allowed five touchdowns to wide receivers in their last three contests. Legette is a solid option as a third wide receiver or Flex play this week.

SIT – Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins

For fantasy purposes, it’s been a long, rough season for the Dolphins. Waddle is no exception as he hasn’t had more than 46 total yards in a game since Week 1. A lot of that can be attributed to the absence of Tua Tagovailoa. But not all of the blame can fall on the quarterback.

In the last two games with Tagovailoa under center, Waddle has managed just 41 receiving yards on six receptions. Even if you take away that -23 yard play attached to him last week, that’s still just 64 yards in two games. Until we see Waddle post a good day of production, he should stay on your bench. Sit ’em in Week 10 and until further notice.

SIT – Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts

As fantasy managers, we understand that Pittman is not the guy who’s going to score a bunch of touchdowns, with six scores in 2021 being his top result. Unfortunately, he has caught just two of 10 passes in the last two weeks. We also thought that a change at quarterback would benefit the guy with 98.7 catches per year over his last three seasons.

Pittman is currently on pace for 56.7 receptions this season. Joe Flacco took over under center and hasn’t seemed like last year’s Comeback Player of the Year. Ultimately, Pittman is another case of “show me first,” before we can safely rely on his production again. Leave Pittman on your bench in Week 10.

Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10: Tight Ends

START – Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans

This is a “Break glass in case of emergency,” option. Over the last five games, Schultz has had six or more targets in four games, averaging 10.1 yards per catch. With a number of more fantasy-relevant tight ends on their bye week, you could be looking for just about anyone to fill that void.

For Week 10, the visiting Lions have allowed 10.1 yards per catch to tight ends in their last two games. Additionally, they’ve allowed 4.3 receptions to the position in their last three. Notably, the Lions are also the 7th-best matchup for tight ends per our free fantasy football tools. It’s not a great floor, but it could be enough for a week in the tight end wasteland.

SIT – Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills

For those of us who were banking on Kincaid this season, we’ve been left with a bad check. In half PPR scoring, he’s only reached 8.5 fantasy points twice and both times he needed a touchdown to get there. Sure, he’ll face a Colts defense that just gave up eight receptions for 85 yards and a score to the Vikings. However, there are too many talented pass-catchers around him.

Personally, I’d still start him over the previously mentioned Schultz. However, there are many other tight ends I would look to before Kincaid like Zach Ertz or a healthy Dallas Goedert. Leaving Kincaid on your bench might be the move this week.
