The fantasy football playoffs are just around the corner as we enter Week 14 of the 2024 season. Today, we’re bringing you our Week 14 fantasy football start em sit em picks. These picks will help you determine who to start in Week 14 and hopefully, make a deep playoff run.
In case you missed it, we recently dropped our Week 14 waiver wire pickups. If you’re not sure who to stream at the quarterback or tight end position, be sure to check that one out. Continue reading for our top picks in our Week 14 start em sit em column.
Best Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em Week 14 Picks
For Week 14, we have plenty of vital lineup decisions that we need to nail down. With our latest fantasy football start em sit em picks, we are here to help you optimize your lineup. Let’s get right into this week’s picks.
Start Em Sit Em Week 14 Quarterbacks
START – Cooper Rush QB Dallas Cowboys
There are a lot of good fantasy quarterbacks on bye this week. A lot of us are going to have to make some tough decisions and scrape the bottom of the barrel to compensate. Rush has a great matchup against the Bengals, who have allowed 34.8 points and 287 passing yards per game in their last five contests. If you’re in dire need, Rush is a fine fill-in this week.
SIT – Jared Goff QB Detroit Lions
In the last five weeks, Goff has exceeded 240 passing yards just twice. That span includes a prior face-off with Green Bay in which he threw for just 145 yards and one touchdown. He will be playing at home, but in his three home games since the Week 5 bye, he has surpassed 221 passing yards once and that was against Jacksonville. I wouldn’t bench him for the previously mentioned Rush, but I’d try to look elsewhere. We may be in for another disappointment.
Start Em Sit Em Week 14 Running Backs
START – Isaac Guerendo RB San Francisco 49ers
If you were the lucky one to claim Guerendo off of the waiver wire this week, congratulations! You get to start a bell-cow running back this week! If you had any remaining FAAB left this week, it was a good week to dump it all.
For fantasy football purposes, McCaffrey and Mason are pretty much done this season. In the two games where Guerendo had at least 10 touches, he accumulated 99 and 88 total yards, so we know he can produce with even a decent workload. The Bears’ defense has allowed ample production on the ground with 5.24 yards per carry in their last games. This rookie should easily be a top-10 fantasy running back in Week 14, if not better.
START – Bucky Irving RB Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This pick could be considered “low-hanging fruit,” with so many teams on bye. Irving notched career highs in rushing attempts (25) and rushing yards (152) in Week 13 and seems to have a hold as the primary ball carrier for Tampa Bay. Rachaad White continues to get work, but Irving is clearly the most explosive weapon on this team.
Furthermore, Irving has eclipsed 70 rushing yards in three straight games while hauling in at least three passes in six straight. Someone, somewhere is wondering whether or not to start him. The answer is “yes, you definitely should.” Start Irving every week from here on out.
SIT – Nick Chubb RB Cleveland Browns
We should all be grateful that Chubb has made it back on the field after his horrible knee injury last season and he has scored three times in the last two weeks. However, his highest yardage total this year was 60 yards and it took him 21 touches to get there.
Now, he’ll face the Steelers who have allowed the fourth fewest rushing yards (1086) and yards per carry (4.1) in 2024. We know he can have amazing days but it doesn’t feel like he’s ready for this challenge yet.
Start Em Sit Em Week 14 Wide Receivers
START – Khalil Shakir WR Buffalo Bills
Shakir’s four catches and 30 receiving yards were both his lowest totals since Week 6. However, in the five games before Week 13, he had seen at least seven targets and caught at least six of them. He’s been Josh Allen’s most reliable weapon in the passing game, despite playing predominantly from the slot.
This week, the Bills go to Los Angeles to face a Rams defense that has allowed 11.9 yards per reception (fifth most) and 20 receiving touchdowns this year. They’ve also surrendered 17.2 yards per reception to wide receivers with at least three catches in the last five weeks. We should expect good things from Shakir this week.
START – Darnell Mooney WR Atlanta Falcons
With Kirk Cousins’ struggles, Mooney’s numbers have dipped a bit in recent weeks. However, he has posted more than 85 receiving yards in three of his last five contests while not catching more than five balls in any of those games. The Vikings have allowed 265.8 passing yards per game (fourth most) and Cousins will be driven to show his old squad what he’s still got. This could be a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair that you’re going to want a piece of.
SIT – Deebo Samuel WR San Francisco 49ers
The struggles for Samuel have been real. Notably, he has 63 total receiving yards across his last three games and hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 6. A Week 14 showdown with Chicago doesn’t bode well for him, either. Premier pass catchers like Justin Jefferson, Trey McBride, and Jayden Reed have all been held under 40 receiving yards by the Bears in recent weeks.
With his lack of production and a hobbled quarterback, this doesn’t feel like a good week to rely on Samuel.
Start Em Sit Em Week 14 Tight Ends
START – Sam LaPorta TE Detroit Lions
Fantasy managers have been unenthused by LaPorta’s production this season. He hasn’t caught more than three passes in a game since Week 8, but he has scored five times in his last seven games, with two coming out of his Week 13 performance.
They’ll face the Packers this week, who have the third-best D-PAC Score for tight ends. That’s one of our free fantasy football tools here at Faceoff Sports Network.
Since Week 5, the Packers have given up 65.6 receiving yards per game and 11.5 yards per catch to the position. If there’s a week you want to roll with LaPorta, it’s Week 14.
SIT – Tucker Kraft TE Green Bay Packers
There are a number of factors working against Kraft this week. First, it’s a short week for Green Bay but not the Lions, who have a whole week to prepare and rest since Thanksgiving. Second, the Lions have the worst D-PAC Score for opposing fantasy tight ends. Finally, the return of Romeo Doubs would further narrow the target share for all of Green Bay’s pass catchers. Ultimately, would even start Noah Fant or Juwan Johnson over Kraft this week.
