Fantasy Football Week 12: Top 3 Tight End Streaming Options

For Week 12, there are six teams on their bye week. The Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, and the New York Jets. That means we’ll be without Week 11 standout Taysom Hill (38.5 fantasy points), the forever disappointing Kyle Pitts, an injured Dalton Kincaid, a Trevor Lawrence-less Evan Engram, along with a few other possible starters such as Mike Gesicki and Ty Conklin.

For this article, I’ll be utilizing one of our free fantasy football tools, the D-PAC Score, available only right here at Faceoff Sports Network. In short, the higher the D-PAC Score, the more often those teams give up fantasy points to that opposing position. More importantly, it can help you find easier matchups.

Will Dissly (TE – LAC) vs. Baltimore Ravens

Dissly was a popular streaming option last week among the fantasy football community, and he did not disappoint. He finished with four receptions, 80 receiving yards, one touchdown, and was the TE5 for the week.

This week, Dissly and the Chargers are facing the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens have the #1 ranked rushing defense in the league – even though the Chargers will want to run the ball, they most likely won’t be able to. Fortunately for the Chargers, the Ravens passing defense is the worst in the league, surrendering almost 300 passing yards a game along with 22 touchdowns for the season.

The Ravens also happen to have the highest TE D-PAC Score. In short, this means they are most likely to give up points to the tight end position.

Dissly is still widely available in many leagues. Notably, he has a 29% roster ownership on Sleeper and 24% on Yahoo. Dissly is my top tight end streamer for the week. This means there’s a good chance you can grab him off the waiver wire.

Jonnu Smith (TE – MIA) vs. New England Patriots

Smith erupted last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. He tallied six receptions for 101 receiving yards, two touchdowns, and 25.1 fantasy points. If it wasn’t for Taysom Hill’s incredible game (35.1 fantasy points), Smith would have finished as the TE1 for the week instead of the TE2.

To the dismay of Jaylen Waddle managers, Smith seems to have taken targets away from the fourth-year wideout. Last week Smith played on 81% of the Dolphins snaps – higher than Waddle (78%) and Tyreek Hill (76%). Smith seems to be a major component of the “quick snap and release” Tua Tagavaiola game plan – to prevent further injury/concussions to the Dolphins quarterback.

The Patriots have the 12th-highest TE D-PAC Score and during Week 5, Smith had a respectable five receptions for 65 receiving yards against these same Patriots.

Smith has a 56% roster ownership on Sleeper and 54% on Yahoo, making him widely available.

Theo Johnson (TE – NYG) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The New York Giants were on a bye last week and the big news out of the Meadowlands coming into Week 12 is the benching of once-promising quarterback Daniel Jones in favor of – not Drew Lock (apparently the Giants don’t want to pay all the bonuses attached to his contract) but rather Tommy “Cutlets” DeVito.

During the last five games, rookie Theo Johnson has not played less than 85% of the snaps. He averaged 9.2 fantasy points the last two weeks before the bye. Coming out of the bye week is usually when coaches get their rookies more involved in the offensive game plan.

The Buccaneers have the third-highest TE D-PAC Score, making them vulnerable to tight end production. To learn more about the D-PAC Score, check out our free fantasy football tools.

Johnson has a 5% roster ownership on Sleeper and 1% on Yahoo. He is a deep sleeper for the week and if you are desperate, I would roll the dice on Johnson this week.
