Tre Harris Fantasy Football Outlook 2025: Rookie WR Sleeper?

0

With the 55th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers selected Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris. This pick has already sparked excitement among dynasty fantasy football players. The Chargers were looking for a strong complement to rookie standout Ladd McConkey, and early signs suggest they may have found their guy.

Tre Harris Fantasy Football Outlook 2025

Will Tre Harris have a productive rookie campaign with the LA Chargers? Or will the focus be on rookie RB Omarion Hampton and the running game? Continue reading as we break down the fantasy football outlook for the Chargers’ new rookie wide receiver, Tre Harris.

Tre Harris Strengths

Harris brings serious fantasy football potential thanks to his deep-threat ability, size, and contested catch skills. During his 2024 season at Ole Miss, he totaled 1,030 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, all in just eight games due to injury. He finished the year with an 89.4 PFF receiving grade, ranking third among all college wide receivers. That’s higher than prospects drafted ahead of him, including Tetairoa McMillan, Travis Hunter, and Emeka Egbuka.

Under second-year head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers have overhauled their roster. While the team leaned on the run early, the passing attack improved significantly as the 2024 season went on. With Harris now in the fold, the Chargers add the big-play outside receiver they have been missing.

Tre Harris Weaknesses

Despite his upside, Harris isn’t a sure thing. He has struggled to create separation and beat press coverage. These are areas he will need to improve to earn consistent snaps in the Chargers’ offense.

Furthermore, target competition is another concern. McConkey looks locked in as the primary option, which could limit Harris’s volume. For Harris to make a fantasy impact, the Chargers will need to maintain their late-season momentum in the passing game.

Tre Harris Fantasy Football Outlook in 2025

For redraft leagues in 2025, Harris projects as a late-round flyer. Unfortunately, his role as the number two option behind McConkey limits his early upside. However, he has the tools to outperform his ADP if he quickly earns trust from Justin Herbert. If he emerges as the top outside target, he could become a weekly fantasy football starter.

The Chargers also added running back Omarion Hampton in the draft and signed free agent Najee Harris. These moves reinforce the idea that the team will operate as a run-first offense. However, a more efficient offense overall could create more red zone opportunities. With his 6-foot-3 frame, Harris could become a reliable scoring threat for Herbert near the goal line.

Tre Harris Dynasty Outlook

In dynasty fantasy football leagues, Harris offers intriguing long-term value. His big-play ability and red zone upside make him a candidate to finish as a top-five receiver in this rookie class. Notably, he is currently being selected in the mid-second round of superflex rookie drafts, which makes him a worthwhile investment. While he is far from a guarantee for fantasy football in 2025, Harris brings plenty of upside for dynasty managers to get excited about.
