Henderson’s fantasy football appeal comes from his ability to make defenders miss, his consistency, and his ability to maintain his balance after contact. During his 2024 season at Ohio State, he racked up 1,010 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, while adding 281 receiving yards and 26 receptions. His ability to break runs after contact stood out on film and in the analytics. Henderson’s 4.43 yards after contact per attempt ranked him in the top 10 percentile among running backs. That led to him having 21 runs of 15 or more yards, tying him for 15th overall in college football.
First-year head coach Mike Vrabel brings a run-first mentality from his days in Tennessee coaching the Titans. While Henderson is no Derrick Henry, his 91.8 PFF rushing grade ranked him among the top running backs in his class. Furthermore, Henderson notably played in a committee during his final year of college with Quinshon Judkins. There is a possibility that Vrabel saw that split and may decide to implement it at the NFL level. If that is the case, Henderson’s upside will be severely limited. Vrabel has never been known for teams with explosive, high-scoring offenses, so in a committee backfield, the scoring chances could be limited.
