Continue reading to find out who our top waiver wire pickups are for Week 10 of the 2024 fantasy football season.
Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups – Quarterbacks
Daniel Jones, New York Giants (17% rostered on Sleeper)
With three total touchdowns and 54 rushing yards, Jones produced his best fantasy performance of the season. In total, he threw for two touchdowns and ran for the third. It was also his fourth game this year with multiple passing scores.
In Week 10, Jones and the Giants will head to Germany for a showdown with the Carolina Panthers. Notably, opposing teams have scored 18 times via the pass (third-most in the NFL) while averaging 8 yards per passing attempt (fourth-most). All in all, Jones could be a great streaming option this week in a weak matchup making him a top waiver wire pickup.
Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets (43% rostered on Yahoo)
In a much-needed win, veteran QB Aaron Rodgers threw multiple touchdowns for the fourth time in five games. Impressively, it was also the fourth time he has thrown multiple touchdowns and no interceptions this season.
This week, Rodgers will be facing an Arizona Cardinals defense that has allowed the seventh most passing yards (2,182) and the sixth-highest completion rate (69.1%) in the league. In the past, Rodgers has had success playing in Arizona. In three of his last four trips there, including both regular and postseason, he has averaged 289.3 passing yards with 9 touchdowns. This former MVP might have a little more gas in the tank.
Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups – Running Backs
Ray Davis, Buffalo Bills (14% rostered on ESPN)
Ray Davis demonstrated some big play ability this past week. Impressively, he turned a dump-off pass into a 67-yard touchdown. The biggest knock is volume as he is only averaging six touches per game since Week 6. However, he’s been efficient with the ball, averaging six yards per carry and turning three receptions into 76 yards in those games.
Buffalo gets a great running back matchup this week in the form of the Indianapolis Colts. Only the Panthers (1,434) have allowed more rushing yards than the Colts (1,348) this season. Indianapolis has also surrendered the fourth-most rushing first downs (75) this year. Furthermore, they have surrendered an average of 124 running back rushing yards in their last four contests. Not only should Davis be picked up in fantasy football, but he could be a spot start in Week 10.
Cam Akers, Minnesota Vikings (8% rostered on Sleeper)
Recently, Ty Chandler has emerged as the primary backup to Aaron Jones. Akers matched his season-high yardage total of 53 yards with five fewer touches (8) than he needed in Week 4 (13). He looked good on the two drives where he was the only running back to take a carry, tallying 31 rushing yards on three consecutive plays.
At this point in the season, any backup running back should be rostered, just in case. Additionally, the next two opponents for Minnesota are the Jaguars and Titans. These two teams have surrendered a combined 19 rushing scores this season.
Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears (13% rostered on Yahoo)
After a four-game stretch when he averaged 9 touches per game, Roschon Johnson had just 7 touches in his last two games. On the plus side, he is averaging 8.1 yards per reception. With the upcoming matchup against the New England Patriots, there’s a chance that he could see an increased role in garbage time. Either way, he is the Bears’ primary backup to D’Andre Swift who has been hot and cold this year. Grab this talented young runner off the waiver wire for some positional depth in Week 10 and beyond.
Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups – Wide Receivers
Noah Brown, Washington Commanders (13% rostered on ESPN)
Noah Brown has seemingly taken on the role of the WR2 for Washington after Terry McLaurin. In his last four games, Brown has averaged 15.9 yards per catch and is averaging 14.5 yards per catch on the season. Additionally, he has surpassed 55 receiving yards in three of his last four games.
For Week 10, Brown gets a solid matchup against the Steelers. Notably, they have allowed eight different players to reach at least 70 receiving yards in their past five games. Ultimately, Brown is a great addition for the foreseeable future off the waiver wire. He could even be started in your deeper fantasy football leagues in Week 10.
Xavier Legette, Carolina Panthers (32% rostered on ESPN)
With Diontae Johnson gone to Baltimore and Adam Thielen’s Week 10 status still up in the air, rookie Xavier Legette is the next best option for Carolina. He has scored four times in 2024 with three of those scores coming in the last four weeks.
With the season in shambles, the Panthers might want to see what their rookie wide receiver can do. In Week 10, he’ll get a great opportunity against the Giants who have given up 27 points per game and 17.1 yards per reception to wide receivers in the last three games. After all, highly drafted rookies tend to break out as the season progresses.
Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers (28% rostered on Yahoo)
Going into the bye week, Ricky Pearsall caught 7 of 9 targets for 59 yards and added a 39-yard rush in his first two games for San Francisco. No, these are not stellar numbers. However, with no Brandon Aiyuk this season and the uncertain status of Deebo Samuel, the 49ers may need to rely more on their highly-regarded rookie.
A Week 10 meeting with Tampa Bay makes things even more appealing. On Monday Night Football, they just allowed 291 receiving yards and three receiving scores to the Chiefs. We could be in for the beginning of a really good run from Pearsall. You might want to scoop him off the waiver wire or spend your FAAB on him before someone else does.
Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers (27% rostered on Sleeper)
Quentin Johnston just churned out a career-best 118 receiving yards in Week 9. Notably, that’s more than twice the yards he had in any other game in 2024. The sophomore receiver is now averaging 15.7 yards per catch and has scored four times this year.
Johnston is still behind Ladd McConkey in targets, yards, and receptions. However, the Chargers have turned to more passing with their recent struggles in the running game. Measuring in at 6’4 and 215 pounds, Johnston is a big target who may finally be coming around as a legitimate weapon through the air. His next three matchups include the Titans, Bengals, and Ravens.
Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups – Tight Ends
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (27% rostered on ESPN)
We’ve all heard it 100 or more times. Taysom Hill is that Swiss army knife player who does a bit of everything. He throws the ball, churns out ground yardage, and even catches a pass from time to time. All of those are reasons he is and isn’t rostered in fantasy football.
Unfortunately, Hill is the poster child of inconsistency for fantasy football production. However, he can also turn any touch into a game-breaking play. Last week, he was one of our top 5 TE streaming options, which worked out great. With so many injuries afflicting the Saints this season, Hill will be a necessary cog in the offense.
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots (36% rostered on Yahoo)
Hunter Henry is the most potent and consistent part of the Patriots offense right now. As good or bad as that might be. Impressively, he leads the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. Additionally, he has caught 20 of 23 targets for 193 yards in the last three contests with rookie Drake Maye at the helm.
Two of those games were against teams who rank in the bottom half of our D-PAC Score with the Jets and Titans. In short, these are two strong defenses against opposing tight ends. Meanwhile, Henry is succeeding regardless of the matchup. Not only is Henry a valuable waiver wire pickup for Week 10 of fantasy football, but he’s even worth starting with Maye under center.
Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups – DST
New York Giants DST vs. Carolina Panthers (6% rostered on Sleeper)
Leading the NFL in total sacks (35), the Giants have notched at least four sacks in six of their last seven games. Dexter Lawrence leads the way (9) with Azeez Ojulari (6) coming in second. They’ll fly across the pond this week to take on the Carolina Panthers who are missing their top offensive tackle Ikem Ekwonu (ankle) and have allowed Bryce Young to be sacked nine times in his four starts. Ultimately, it should be a fruitful day for the Giants DST and pass rush in Week 10.
Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups – Kickers
Cairo Santos, Chicago Bears (10% rostered on Yahoo)
With a perfect day of making three of three field goals, Santos increased his conversion rate to 83.3% on the season. He’s made four of five kicks from beyond 40 yards in his last three games with the only miss coming from 56 yards out. Opposing kickers have made nine field goals against the Patriots in the last four games.
With this matchup, Santos is a top waiver wire priority for Week 10. Ultimately, Santos should provide a solid day for fantasy football managers looking for a reliable kicker for Week 10.
