The fantasy football playoffs are finally here as we head into Week 15 of the 2024 fantasy football season. Thankfully, the bye weeks are over and done with. This week, it will be crucial to work the waiver wire and make sure you don’t leave any FAAB left unspent. Today, we’ll be breaking down the best waiver wire pickups for Week 15 of the 2024 fantasy football season.
This week’s waiver wire offers a range of options. Today, we’ll break down the top Week 15 waiver wire pickups which will help you strengthen your roster through the fantasy football playoffs. Let’s get to it.
Best Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups for Fantasy Football 2024
At this point in the fantasy football season, every waiver wire pickup and start or sit decision is extremely important. One wrong move could end your season. Continue reading to find out who the top waiver wire pickups are for Week 15 of the 2024 fantasy football season.
Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups – Quarterbacks
Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets – 37% rostered on Sleeper
Following his largest yardage output of the season (339), Rodgers gets the best matchup a fantasy quarterback could ask for. Jacksonville has given up the highest passer rating (107.5), the most yards per catch (8.2), and the second most passing yards per game (277.1) this year. If Rodgers is going to have one last hurrah as a Jet this season, it’s in Week 15.
Jameis Winston, Cleveland Browns – 34% rostered on Yahoo
With the Cleveland running attack doing little to help the offense, Winston is the quarterback the Browns needed all season, despite his 2-4 record as the starter. In his last four games, he has averaged 43 attempts, 283.25 passing yards and 2.5 touchdown passes. The volume is there and he’s having good production along the way.
Now he’ll face the Chiefs defense (seventh-best D-PAC Score for QBs) that has allowed 69.7 percent of passes to be completed since Week 7 – higher than all but two NFL teams have allowed all year. Teams that have contributed to that stat are the Raiders (twice) and the Panthers. Winston is the first quarterback I’m looking at from the waiver wire this week.
Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups – Running Backs
Kendre Miller, New Orleans Saints – 9% rostered on Sleeper
Finally free from the clutches of the imposed IR stint, Miller had 10 carries for 32 yards and a score. Not the most attractive stat line but it shows that Saints’ head coach Darren Rizzi is willing to give the sophomore runner a fair chance. Ultimately, this seemingly makes Miller the primary handcuff to roster in case anything happens to Alvin Kamara.
A faceoff with Washington could give him some added fuel this week as the Saints are still in the divisional picture. Notably, Washington had allowed 4.9 yards per carry and five rushing scores to running backs from Week 7 through Week 11.
Snagging any primary handcuff for a fantasy playoff run can become a big key to success. Even if he doesn’t see an increased workload yet, Miller is a good running back waiver wire target for Week 15 and beyond.
Braelon Allen, New York Jets – 48% rostered on ESPN
With Breece Hall sitting out (knee) in Week 14, Allen and Isaiah Davis had a nearly 50/50 split of the offensive snaps. However, Allen led the way in carries (11), total yards (81) and receptions (4).
If Hall is back on the field this week, he’ll obviously take back the primary role in the running game. In that case, Davis becomes a footnote with Allen as the primary backup. In a matchup with Jacksonville (second-best D-PAC Score for RBs), Allen could still produce a helpful fantasy day in a secondary role.
Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups – Wide Receivers
Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers – 38% rostered on ESPN
Despite losing each of their three games, the Panthers offense has looked much better with Thielen back in action. Thielen led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards in both of the last two games, racking up 99 and 102 receiving yards, respectively. Bryce Young looks more confident when his favorite target is available as three of his four biggest passing days have come in the last three weeks.
Carolina looks to continue its competitive ways against Dallas this week. The Cowboys have surrendered eight passing touchdowns in their last five games. Thielen hauling in one of those would make him an exceptional fantasy play in Week 15.
Tim Patrick, Detroit Lions – 1% rostered on Yahoo
In a high-scoring, back-and-forth, Thursday night divisional showdown, Patrick gave some 2020-esque vibes. He caught six of seven targets for 43 yards, scoring twice. Due to Kalif Raymond being unavailable (foot), Patrick falls in as the number three wide receiver for Detroit and their fifth-most passing yards (3354) this season. With more games against opponents that can run up the score, he will be called upon again and again, especially with the Lions ravaged defense allowing 51 points across their last two games.
DeMario Douglas, New England Patriots – 24% rostered on ESPN
Fresh off of the bye, Douglas looks to continue his role as the primary wide receiver for New England. He leads the Patriots wide receivers in targets (70), receptions (52) and yards (497). Notably, from Week 10 through Week 12, he was averaging 13.2 yards per carry with 50 or more receiving yards in each contest. Additionally, he has been targeted seven or more times in five games this season. He will be a solid flex consideration down the stretch and for Week 15 off the waiver wire.
Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups – Tight Ends
Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders – 44% rostered on Yahoo
Ertz is the kind of tight end fantasy managers have relied on this season. He had caught 15 passes and scored three times in his last three games before the Week 14 bye. He has been a great dump-off option for Washington all year. Additionally, he is second on the team in targets (75), receptions (52), receiving yards (501), and receiving touchdowns (4), trailing only Terry McLaurin in each category.
This week, they’ll travel to the Big Easy, New Orleans. Tight ends have caught 4.8 passes per game against the Saints in the last six weeks. Ertz might be the best streaming tight end option if you can get him.
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints – 19% rostered on Sleeper
In each of the last two seasons, Johnson has made a name for himself in fantasy circles. Last year, he scored in Weeks 14, 15 and 16. In 2022, he reached 60 or more receiving yards in Weeks 15 and 17, scoring twice in Week 15. This year, he’s been targeted 12 times in the last two games and scored in two of the last three.
There is virtually no competition for targets with Taysom Hill out for the season. The change at quarterback could also benefit Johnson, as he eclipsed 40 receiving yards in two of the three games that Derek Carr missed earlier this season. The tight ends were also targeted 7.3 times per game in those three contests. All of this tells us that history may repeat itself again.
Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups – DSTs
Dallas Cowboys – 32% rostered on ESPN
With 12 of their 36 sacks this season coming in the last three games, Dallas has been putting considerable pressure on opposing quarterbacks. They’ve also tallied six turnovers (4 interceptions and 2 fumbles) in those games. Micah Parsons returned for November, accounting for 3.5 sacks in the last three games. There’s no quit in these Cowboys.
Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups – Kickers
Brandon McManus, Green Bay Packers – 25% rostered on Yahoo
Since joining the Packers in Week 7, McManus has made every PAT and missed just one field goal. He also has the fourth most PATs made since Week 9, even with his bye week in there. With a strong offense and the Packers looking to lock up a postseason berth, this 11th-year kicker is in a great position to help any fantasy manager in search of a reliable kicker for Week 15 off the waiver wire.
