Fantasy Football WR PPR Rankings Week 16

Before we dive into the rankings, let’s reflect on what transpired in Week 15’s matchups.  Last week we saw a vintage Davante Adams performance as he and Aaron Rodgers proved they still have elite chemistry. Week 15 also provided massive games by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Mike Evans as they helped fantasy managers survive and advance in the playoffs.

This week my top 24 fantasy football rankings and tiers for WRs in Week 16 are updated with all of the current news and performances accounted for. Every week, I’ll separate them into tiers along with one “Start of the Week.”

Week 16 Fantasy Football WR Rankings: Start of the Week

Jaxon Smith-Njigba vs. Minnesota Vikings

Seattle Seahawks second-year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been on a tear of late, finishing as a top 20 WR in PPR scoring in five of his past six games.  The former first-rounder has overtaken D.K. Metcalf as the top receiving threat for the Seahawks, leading the team in targets, receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.  On top of his success, Smith-Njigba has been remarkably consistent by finishing with fewer than 10 fantasy points only once since Week 3.

The Seahawks are currently 3.5 point underdogs against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16, according to DraftKings.  I expect Smith-Njigba to be heavily involved as the Seahawks pass to keep up with a Vikings offense that ranks eighth in the league in scoring.  The Vikings have proven to give up plenty through the air so far this season, ranking bottom five in completions and receiving yards allowed.  The team has also given up the most fantasy points to the wide receiver position and the second most over the past four weeks.

Smith-Njigba ranks as a low-end WR1 in my Week 16 rankings and tiers and should be in every fantasy lineup.  The former Ohio State Buckeye is my start of the week with his excellent matchup, elite role in the offense, and dominating production of late.
