Week 17 Fantasy Football WR Rankings: Start of the Week

Jameson Williams at San Francisco 49ers

Coming off a massive performance that saw him finish as a top 5 WR, Jameson Williams looks to keep his momentum going in Week 17.  The former first-rounder has five or more targets in each of his past seven games since returning from a suspension earlier in the season.  Williams has emerged as the secondary receiving threat in this explosive Detroit Lions offense, ranking second on the team in targets, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.

The Lions face off against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. Notably, this matchup has the highest over/under on the week according to DraftKings.  Furthermore, the 49ers have been stout against wide receivers this season, ranking top 10 against the position.  Despite that, this explosive offense and injured Lions defense should keep the game high-scoring and give Williams plenty of opportunities for big plays.

The Alabama product ranks as just outside of the top 24 WRs in my Week 17 rankings and tiers. However, he should be a consideration for any lineups given his upside.  Williams is my start of the week with the shootout potential of this matchup. His explosive upside and steady targets in the league’s top-scoring offense are what you want in your fantasy football championship.
