Welcome back to another look at the 2025 NFL Draft in this edition of Scouting the Nation. Today, we will take a look at a few FCS prospects that could be drafted inside the top 100. As the college football season approaches, the 2025 NFL Draft will certainly be on our minds. Whether you’re a hardcore fantasy football manager or an avid football fan, we’ve got you covered. In this series, Scouting the Nation, we highlight top players to look out for in the upcoming draft class.
3 FCS Prospects For The 2025 NFL Draft
Each year, a few FCS prospects are worthy of being top 100 selections or early contributors on NFL teams. Top FCS programs have churned out offensive linemen, and several other position groups have had their fair share of success in the NFL. About 10 prospects from this division should get drafted, with at least three in the top 100. Here is an early preview of some FCS players worth monitoring this Fall.
Mark Gronowski QB South Dakota State
The top FCS quarterback in quite a while, Mark Gronowski has the talent to be the biggest riser of any quarterback in the country this fall. He is a well-built prospect who possesses incredible play strength. Gronowski can break tackles with ease as a runner and will definitely be a threat with his legs at the next level.
As a passer, Gronowski generates easy velocity and can make any throw. His arm strength is excellent, but he can also layer the football and throw with impressive touch. More importantly, teams will love Gronowski’s success at the collegiate level, and it is hard to find players who have won as much as he has. Size, arm talent, the ability to run, and a resume that is off the charts give Gronowski starting potential at the next level.
Charles Grant OT William & Mary
I’ve compared Charles Grant to Terron Armstead, an FCS tackle turned Pro Bowler, and he has that kind of upside. Grant was a legitimate prospect off of his 2022 tape and took a jump last season with a dominant performance against Virginia. You can’t find athletes like Grant, and he’s just scratching the surface of what he can become.
Furthermore, Grant has left tackle feet and arm length to go along with high-end movement skills. As a run blocker, he’d be perfect in a wide zone scheme that would maximize his athleticism. Expect Grant to test really well and position himself to be one of the first tackles drafted next April.
Grey Zabel OT North Dakota State
The Bison produce NFL offensive tackles, and Grey Zabel is up next. Notably, the first word that comes to mind with him is consistent. His technique is NFL-ready, and he is a very good athlete. Zabel just wasn’t beat in pass protection, whether at tackle or guard last season. Additionally, he is a natural knee bender, with the foot quickness to get good depth in pass protection.
When kicked inside, Zabel didn’t get bullrushed, as he has excellent power and a strong anchor. In the run game, Zabel creates displacement, can finish, and his initial strike jolts defenders. Cody Mauch, Cordell Volson, and Dillon Radunz will all be starters next season in the NFL, and Zabel has that same upside. Ultimately, he projects as a day-two pick for the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
