Free NFL Picks and Best Bets – Week 15
Happy week 15 to all. Just four weeks remain in the NFL’s regular season. What a slate of games on tap this Sunday, none bigger than the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles showdown. On one end you have a Pittsburgh team closing in on an AFC North Division title. The Steelers are 4-0 this season as an underdog and 6-1 overall, with Rusell Wilson as their starter. Meanwhile, on the other side, the Eagles are hot on the heels of the Detroit Lions for the number one seed in the NFC.
Philadelphia is on a nine-game winning streak behind the brilliance of Saquon Barkley who leads the NFL with 1,623 rushing yards. Without further ado, as always, there are picks to be made and money to be won. Here are the picks. Let’s get into our Free NFL Picks with predictions and best bets for Week 15.
Kansas City Chiefs (+4.0) vs Cleveland Browns (-4.0)
Following their 19-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night, the Chiefs now have a two-game lead in the race for the AFC’s number-one seed. The two-time reigning Super Bowl champions continue to win by a fine margin. Kansas City has won 15 straight games by one score. Furthermore, their point differential (+56) is the worst in NFL history for a team with a 12-1 record.
Now up to the eighth pick in the NFL Draft, the Browns have lost four of their last five games. However, Cleveland remains dangerous and has been hindered by crucial mistakes in critical moments. Over his last four games, Jameis Winston has tossed eight touchdown passes and five interceptions. Kansas City owns a 4-1 record against Cleveland in their last five matchups. Nonetheless, Winston and company should be able to find success against a vulnerable Chiefs secondary. Take the points and bet on the Browns.
Pick: Browns (+4.0)
New York Jets (-3.5) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (+3.5)
New York lost for the seventh time in eight games under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich, falling 32-26 to the Miami Dolphins in overtime. However, there were a lot of bright spots for the Gang Green as Aaron Rodgers eclipsed the 300-yard passing mark for the first time in three years. Meanwhile, Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams exceeded the 100-yard receiving mark.
Jacksonville posted a rare 10-6 win against the Tennessee Titans. Despite the victory, Mac Jones continues to struggle in the absence of Trevor Lawrence. He was intercepted twice on Sunday and now has five picks on the season. Furthermore, Jacksonville has now scored ten points or less in three of their last four games. It has been an ugly season for the Jets, but this Jaguars team is at a different level of bad and headed for a top-three pick in the Draft in April.
Pick: Jets (-3.5)
New England Patriots (+6.0) vs Arizona Cardinals (-6.0)
The Patriots will play the first of two road games when they visit the Cardinals in a rare cross-conference matchup. Coming off their bye week, three of New England’s last five losses have all come by one possession. Furthermore, Drake Maye continues to shine. The North Carolina product completed 24 of his 30 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown pass in one of the finest performances of his young career in the team’s loss to the Colts.
Once atop the NFC West at 6-4, the Cardinals have dropped two straight games and find themselves on the outside looking in the postseason picture. Kyler Murray is at the center of Arizona’s struggles. The former number-one overall pick has tossed five interceptions during the group’s losing streak. While Arizona plays for their postseason lives, New England should give them all sorts of problems. Six points is too big a number.
Pick: Patriots (+6.0)
Pittsburgh Steelers (+5.5) vs Philadelphia Eagles (-5.5)
The Pittsburgh Steelers took down the Cleveland Browns 27-14 on Sunday to return the favour after Cleveland stunned them two weeks ago. Now, just one win away from clinching a playoff berth, the Steelers continue to be led by their outstanding defense. Pittsburgh ranks fourth in rushing yards allowed per game (91.5) and second in third-down percentage (32.5).
Arguably the hottest team in the NFL, the Eagles have won nine games in a row. They remain just one game behind the Lions for the number-one seed in the NFC. Remaining one-dimensional on the offensive side of the ball, Jalen Hurts has failed to eclipse 200 passing yards three weeks in a row. Mike Tomlin is a career 65 percent against the spread as an underdog. Give me the road team to cover in one of the games of the weekend.
Pick: Steelers (+5.5)
Indianapolis Colts vs Denver Broncos (O/U 44.5)
In a game that will have significant implications on the AFC Wild Card race, the Colts sit two games behind Denver for the final postseason spot in the conference. Coming off their bye week, the team has won two of its last three games, including a thrilling 25-24 victory over the New England Patriots. Be that as it may, Indianapolis’s offense remains a work in progress. On the season, the Colts rank 23rd in total yards per game (326.6). Furthemore, in four road games with Anthony Richardson as a starter under center, they are averaging just 20.8 points.
Set to face a Denver defense that remains one of the stoutest units across the league, the Broncos rank fifth in defensive DVOA. Moreover, they also sit tied for seconds in points per game (18.0) and sixth in rushing yards per game (94.7). Seven of Indianapolis’s 13 games have gone under the number this season. Expect that trend to continue in this one.
Pick: Under 44.5
Atlanta Falcons vs Las Vegas Raiders (O/U 44.5)
Suddenly, looking up at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South, the Falcons have lost four games in a row. They have allowed over 38 points in two of those contests. Moreover, while Kirk Cousins continues to struggle, Atlanta can still put up points in bunches behind their running back duo of Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier
Las Vegas is tied for the worst record in the NFL at 2-11. They nearly knocked off the Kansas City Chiefs on Black Friday before falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Antonio Pierce’s group has now allowed over 27 points in five of their last six games. Furthermore, 70 percent of the Raiders’ last 12 games have exceeded the 40-point mark. Play the over in this one.
Pick: Over 44.5
