IDP Fantasy Football: Week 16 News and Notes
Dre Greenlaw (LB) – San Francisco 49ers
Greenlaw has been one of the most reliable players in IDP fantasy football leagues this season. He has only scored fewer than 10 points once all year. Additionally, he has been incredible the last five weeks scoring over 20 points and at least eight tackles in four of those games. He has played in fewer than 80% of the snaps in only three games this season and has over 100 tackles for the first time in his career. Now there is a potential out in his contract in 2024 with a $0 dead cap so I expect him to go all out next year in an attempt to maximize a new deal.
Kyle Hamilton (DB) – Baltimore Ravens
Hamilton had his best game as a rookie Saturday against the Browns with seven tackles and a sack. His snap percentage has been up and down this season and has only two games over 60 percent. However, he has seen over 50% snap percentage in three straight weeks. While he has not been a reliable starter in fantasy this season I think he is worth a stash in dynasty leagues. I see his role increasing next year and he has the potential to be a star.
Brian Burns (DL) – Carolina Panthers
While Burns is having his best season, the last two weeks have not been good for him in fantasy. He has been dealing with a knee injury and has scored fewer than 10 points in both games. Burns has three or fewer tackles in three straight weeks. For the next two weeks, he faces Jared Goff and Tom Brady who are among the least-sacked quarterbacks in the league. Although Burns may have helped you get into the playoffs you may want to look to other options.
Khalil Mack (DL/LB) – Los Angeles Chargers
Mack has struggled for several weeks scoring fewer than seven points in four of his last five games. He failed to record a sack in those five games and only had more than three tackles in just one of those five games. Mack had six sacks in the first six games but since then he has only managed to record one sack. He is on pace to finish with fewer than 10 sacks for the fourth straight season. Mack will turn 32 in February and his best football is likely behind him.
James Houston (LB) – Detroit Lions
Houston was a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Jackson State after transferring from Florida. He has recorded a sack in each of his first four career games. What is even more impressive is that he did it by playing no more than 40% of snaps in all four games. Since Week 12 his snap percentage has increased every week and if this continues he could be a nice high-upside player. Houston is definitely someone worth stashing.
