IDP Fantasy Football: Week 5 News and Notes
Frankie Luvu (LB) – Carolina Panthers
Another monster game for Luvu. This is his second 30+ point game of the season where he had double-digit tackles, and had his first career interception which he returned for a touchdown. he provides a solid weekly floor with the ability for a huge game. Luvu is averaging over 90% snap percentage so far this season which is what you love to see.
Foyesade Olounkun (LB) – Jacksonville Jaguars
Olounkun has played every defensive snap this season and is on pace for over 160 tackles. He has two games with double-digit tackles as well as two forced fumbles through 4 weeks. The next three weeks should be good for him as he plays the Texans, Colts, and Giants. He is looking like a stud in fantasy and isn’t negatively affected from changing teams.
Micah Parsons (LB) – Dallas Cowboys
Parsons has had 10 or fewer points in the last two games and zero sacks. It could be partly due to an illness he was dealing with. Don’t worry there will be better days for Parsons. Look for him to get back on track and have a great game against the Rams this week. I believe he will top his 13 sacks from last year.
Montez Sweat (DL) – Washington Commanders
Many people expected Sweat to have a solid season but it is not looking good for so far. In his last healthy season, he had nine sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception. However, this season he has failed to record a sack, forced fumble, or an interception. He scored double-digit points in ten games in his last healthy season yet he has only done so once this season. He’s on pace to finish this season outside the top 80 and will only have one top 40 season in his career. It is safe to drop him.
Danielle Hunter (DL) – Minnesota Vikings
Hunter finished top 5 in his last 2 healthy seasons in 2018 and 2019. He’s coming off of two injury-plagued seasons where he missed all over 2020 and more than half of 2021. He has fewer than 10 points in each of the last two games. He was off to a great start last season and was on pace to finish top 5 before getting injured. This season is not looking so good and he is on pace to finish outside the top 30.
Jordan Poyer (DB) – Buffalo Bills
Poyer had a very impressive game Sunday after missing week 3. He had six total tackles, three passes defended, and two interceptions! He is incredibly consistent for fantasy where he has finished top 10 the past five seasons and is looking like he will make it six seasons if he can stay healthy. At age 31 he could be a great player to target in dynasty leagues for a contending team.
