Jared Goff Fantasy Outlook 2024 – Great Value at QB?

1

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. What time is that? August. It’s fantasy football draft season. In this article, I will analyze the Detroit Lions quarterback, Jared Goff. More importantly, Goff’s 2024 fantasy football outlook. In recent fantasy football mock drafts, Goff has been looking like a great value this year.

If you’re reading this, you’re contemplating drafting him, trading for him or trading him to another manager in your dynasty league. This comprehensive analysis will help you make an informed decision on whether Goff can maintain his QB1 status for the upcoming year or not.

QB Jared Goff Fantasy Football Outlook

Considering Jared Goff‘s ADP in 2023 was QB17, his QB8 finish was a steal for fantasy managers who drafted him. Goff has been a QB1 the past two seasons as he also finished as the QB10 in 2022, per FantasyPros.

Although Goff did have two rushing touchdowns last season, his rushing upside is practically non-existent.

However, Goff still has superstar receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, 2023’s TE1 overall in Sam LaPorta, rookie sensation running back Jahmyr Gibbs, and hopefully, an emerging Jameson Williams to throw to. Simply put, Goff has elite offensive weapons to work with.

Jared Goff Fantasy Football Outlook (2024)

There are two sides to Goff. There is “indoor Goff” and “outdoor Goff.”

Last year indoor Goff had a quarterback rating of 104.0. He had a completion percentage of 69%. He threw for 30 touchdown passes (third highest), with only eight interceptions and almost 3,000 passing yards.

Outdoor Goff wasn’t as good. This version had a quarterback rating of just 87.9%. Notably, he completed 64.5% of his throws. He threw for seven touchdowns, four interceptions and just shy of 1,600 yards.

This upcoming season, the Lions somehow only play one outdoor game in the first 15 weeks of the season. Hopefully, this means indoor Goff will come out to play.

Jared Goff Dynasty Football Outlook

For dynasty fantasy football purposes, Goff’s outlook is interesting. According to FantasyPros, Goff’s dynasty ADP is QB19. The Lions seem to believe in Goff as they recently signed him to a four-year $212 million dollar extension. For what it’s worth, he will be turning 30 in October and seems to be getting better with age.

Furthermore, the Lions have plenty of offensive talent in St. Brown, Williams, LaPorta, and Gibbs. Not to mention, a top-five offensive line. All in all, Goff is in an extremely good position for the next few years to put up low-end QB1 numbers. More importantly, he’s looking like a solid QB option in dynasty fantasy football leagues.

You could do worse than Goff in a 1QB league and he is an excellent quarterback to stream in such leagues. In a Superflex league, Goff is an extremely valuable QB2 who you should look to acquire if other league managers don’t realize his value or are too fond of non-mobile quarterbacks. All in all, he’s looking like a solid value and safe option for years to come.

Conclusion

Goff’s current ADP is QB12 which seems in line with the quarterbacks ahead of him. With the majority of the games this season being played in a dome setting, Goff could be in for a career year. Just make sure you have another quarterback option for Week 16 at Chicago and Week 17 at San Francisco. You don’t want to be relying on “outdoor Goff” during the fantasy football playoffs.

All things considered, Goff is looking like a safe option in all fantasy league formats. In redraft, he’s looking like a nice late-round quarterback option. In dynasty leagues, he’s looking like a nice value as well, and might be someone worth investing for long-term purposes.
