Keenan Allen to the Bears – Fantasy Football Outlook
Per Jay Glazer, the Los Angeles Chargers have traded six-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears for a fourth-round pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

The Chargers entered the free agency $20M-plus over the salary cap. Many thought the team would trade players like Khalil Mack or Joey Bosa because of their contracts. However, the team restructured their contracts to keep them on the team for the upcoming season.
Furthermore, the team released wide receiver Mike Williams before moving Allen. Now, the Chargers are without their two top wide receivers. Their current room now includes Quentin Johnston, Joshua Palmer, Derius Davis, and Simi Fehoko. Head coach Jim Harbaugh will surely bring competition to the room, holding the fifth overall pick. The 2024 NFL Draft class is loaded with talented wide receivers and they should be able to bring in some help.
The Chicago Bears consider this a great addition. They also recently signed running back D’Andre Swift and tight end Gerald Everett to their revamped offense. Furthermore, pairing Allen with DJ Moore and tight end Cole Kmet will provide Justin Fields with the necessary weaponry to make this offense excel.
Currently, the No.1 overall pick is still held by the Bears along with the ninth pick. There are multiple options available as the hype surrounding the Fields trade has subsided. Nevertheless, there is speculation that Caleb Williams may be chosen here, although there remains a possibility that they will opt to trade out of it.
Regarding Allen himself, he should continue to be considered a high-end WR2 in PPR leagues. A decrease in targets will be seen by him, as he has maintained an average of 131 over the past three seasons. For safety, he should be regarded as a mid-round selection.
