One of the most popular free agents of the 2024 NFL offseason is veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins. In this piece, we will break down some potential landing spots for Cousins. While the odds on favorite is the Atlanta Falcons, some of our staff believe that we could be in for a surprise. As we all know, nothing is certain in the NFL.

Atlanta Falcons

Kirk Cousins will play for one of two teams in 2024. The Atlanta Falcons or the Minnesota Vikings. All rumors suggest that the Falcons will go all in for Cousins, and then the ball is in the Vikings court to either match the deal or let the veteran quarterback walk.

Cousins in Atlanta makes the Falcons legit contenders for the NFC South, and possibly more thanks to the ample talent the team already has on both sides of the ball. – Anthony Cervino

Cousins going to the Falcons has been the strongest rumor of this early NFL offseason. While it is not always safe to assume, I’m going with the rumors on this one and predicting that Cousins will be calling Atlanta home in 2024.

The top figures within the organization have been adamant that the quarterback position needs to be fixed. Cousins, who has thrown for 20+ touchdowns in eight out of the last 10 seasons, is the best way for them to accomplish that quickly. – Michael Hauff

As much as I would like to be different from the rest, I think Atlanta makes the most sense for Cousins. The main reason being, when there is smoke, there’s fire.

Cousins looks eager to test out the open market and it seems like he will get the chance to do so. The veteran signal caller has looked awesome in Kevin O’Connell‘s offense which stems from the Sean McVay tree.

Finally, the current offensive coordinator in Atlanta is Zac Robinson, who spent the last 5 seasons under McVay in Los Angeles. It just makes too much sense. – Pete Nova

Las Vegas Raiders

While many are saying Cousins is going to the Falcons, I am throwing a dark horse in that no one is talking about and that is the Raiders.

Jimmy Garoppolo has been released, leaving Aiden O’Connell as the only quarterback that the team has. Although the Raiders hold the 13th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, they can throw one of the biggest surprises of the offseason and pair Cousins with Davante Adams. – Ryan Miner

Minnesota Vikings

Despite all of the latest rumors and speculations regarding Cousins to the Falcons, I believe he’ll find a way to return to the Vikings. Since landing with the Vikings back in 2018, Cousins has put up a ridiculous 23,265 passing yards, 171 touchdowns, and has thrown 55 interceptions. After an unfortunate Achilles injury cut his 2023 season short, Cousins should bounce back as he heads into his 13th season in the NFL.

Moving forward, the Vikings are likely going to make Justin Jefferson the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. Not to mention, second-year wide receiver Jordan Addison will be around to compliment the star wide receiver. Additionally, tight end TJ Hockenson has cemented himself as one of the best tight ends in the league. All things considered, I don’t see why Cousins would really have much interested in leaving Minnesota. It’s really in the best interest for both parties if Cousins would stay put.

Furthermore, despite all of the rumors, the Minnesota Vikings “are still in the game” for quarterback Kirk Cousins, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. – Aaron Schill

Cousins will certainly have suitors in free agency but ultimately I think he will decide to stay with the Minnesota Vikings. Look for it to be a one or two-year deal. However, the Vikings would still be in the mix to draft a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft to sit behind Cousins for a season or two. – Brandon Braasch
