NFL Player Prop Bets – Monday Night Football, Giants vs Steelers
While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, sports bettors only care about making money. However, which prop bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Here are my five favorite NFL player prop bets for Monday’s game. Let’s get right into it.
All props and odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook.
Russell Wilson Over 199.5 Passing Yards (-115)
The Steelers made a change at quarterback in Week 7, going from Justin Fields to Wilson. The veteran quarterback made his season debut, totaling 264 passing yards in the win over the New York Jets. By comparison, the Jets had held quarterbacks to only 170.2 passing yards per game before the matchup against Wilson. Meanwhile, Wilson averaged 204.7 passing yards per game last year with the Denver Broncos despite playing with limited options at wide receiver.
Last week, Jalen Hurts had only 114 passing yards against the Giants. However, the superstar quarterback only had 14 pass attempts in the blowout win. The Philadelphia Eagles gave Saquon Barkley every chance to stick it to his former team, limiting how much they put on Hurts’ shoulder. Meanwhile, New York had given up 223.8 passing yards per game to quarterbacks before last week’s matchup, surrendering 208 or more in every contest except when facing Deshaun Watson (196).
Daniel Jones Over 24.5 Rushing Yards (-125)
While the veteran quarterback is coming off a torn ACL from last season, Jones hasn’t let the injury stop him from making an impact with his legs this year. He has averaged 26.3 rushing yards per game, totaling 20 or more in all but one contest since Week 1. Furthermore, the former Duke star has averaged nine rushing attempts for 38 yards over the past three weeks, totaling 38 or more in two contests.
Meanwhile, the Steelers have surrendered only 55 rushing yards to quarterbacks this season, the second-fewest in the NFL. Yet, they have faced several quarterbacks that don’t use their legs. Five of the seven quarterbacks they’ve encountered totaled zero rushing yards, combining for five attempts. However, Pittsburgh gave up 25 rushing yards to Bo Nix on four attempts. Furthermore, they surrendered 24 rushing yards on three attempts to Anthony Richardson despite him playing only 13 snaps.
Najee Harris Over 59.5 Rushing Yards (-135)
Harris has never been an explosive running back. He averaged 4.1 or fewer yards per rushing attempt every game over the first five weeks. However, the former Alabama star has been outstanding over the past two weeks, averaging 17.5 rushing attempts for 104 yards, going over the century mark in both contests. Furthermore, Harris has averaged 68.3 rushing yards per game this season, totaling 69 or more in 71.4% of the matchups.
New York got obliterated by Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles backfield last week. They had 38 rushing attempts for 247 yards, averaging 6.5 yards per attempt against Barkley’s former team. The Eagles backfield accounted for 33.% of the rushing yards the Giants have given up to running backs this year. More importantly, New York has surrendered 105.3 rushing yards per contest to running backs, giving up 108 or more in nearly half of their games.
Wan’Dale Robinson Over 5.5 Receptions (+115)
While Malik Nabers is the star of the Giants’ offense, Robinson has been a go-to option for Daniel Jones. The former Kentucky star is second in the NFL in targets (67) and fifth in receptions (43). Yet, the betting market is giving bettors plus money for Robinson totaling over 5.5 receptions. The third-year pro has averaged 6.1 receptions per game this season, totaling six or more in 71.4% of the contests, including four of the past five weeks.
More importantly, Robinson has run a team-high 76.7% of his routes from the slot this year, 28.8% more than anyone else on the roster. Meanwhile, the Steelers have struggled with slot receivers, seeing the fifth-most targets (76) and routes (341) this season (per Fantasy Points Data). Pittsburgh has surrendered 7.1 receptions per game to slot receivers. Furthermore, they have given up seven or more receptions to slot receivers in 71.4% of their games, including four straight contests.
George Pickens Over 58.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Pickens has had some rough moments in 2024. However, he averaged 60.5 receiving yards per game in the six contests that Justin Fields started despite catching only 59.1% of his targets, totaling 85 or more yards twice. More importantly, the third-year pro had his best game this year in Week 7 with Russell Wilson taking under center, pulling in five receptions for 111 receiving yards, including multiple impressive catches downfield.
Furthermore, Pickens could have had more receiving yards if not for multiple defensive penalties. Meanwhile, the Giants surrendered 89 receiving yards on five targets to A.J. Brown last week despite Jalen Hurts having only 14 pass attempts in the game. More importantly, New York has struggled to slow down No. 1 wide receivers, giving up 80 receiving yards per game over the past five weeks, surrendering 72 or more in all but one matchup.
