The New England Patriots, riding a six-game winning streak, are set to head to Buffalo to take on the Bills in a battle for the AFC East. Currently, the Bills are 3-point favorites with a 41 point game total. For the Patriots, Brandon Bolden and Nick Folk are listed as questionable. The Bills do not have anybody in the player pool on the injury report. The weather in Buffalo could play a factor as the winds are over 30 mph currently and there will be a chance of rain around kickoff.
MVP Options
Josh Allen ($17,500)
While the Patriots have been the second-best team this season against quarterbacks, Josh Allen still projects as the top scorers on the slate. He has averaged 24.47 FanDuel points per game and is a constant threat in the running game. Buffalo passes at one of the highest rates in the league and has given Allen elite volume. He has thrown over 40 passes in five games this season. Going against this Patriots defense is a tough matchup, but given the volume and rushing upside, Allen makes for a great play.
Stefon Diggs ($14,000)
Going to Stefon Diggs against this defense will be lower owned in the MVP spot. He continues to be Josh Allen’s top option and has commanded 54 targets over his last six games and has scored a touchdown in three straight. With the projected low total and potential weather, getting to an elite wide receiver with massive upside is a way to get different. He currently has been targeted on 27.8% of his team’s red zone targets giving him a great chance to catch another touchdown needed to vault him to the slate’s highest scorer.
Flex Plays
Mac Jones ($15,000)
In lower projected games, getting to both quarterbacks is something that gives you a great floor. While this Buffalo defense has been the best defense against quarterbacks, the position just offers so much safety in terms of raw points. While Jones does not use his legs often, he has averaged 27 attempts per game over his last three. In the last three weeks, he has had six passing touchdowns with just one interception.
Nick Folk ($8,500)
Folk is listed as questionable in this game but is expected to play. If he does play then he makes for a great play as he is averaging 11.67 FanDuel points per game for the Patriots. He is converting on 91% of his field-goal attempts this season with his only misses coming from greater than 50 yards. The Bill’s defense is very good and could stall out the Patriot’s offense paving the way for Folk to get extra kicking duties. Over his last three games, he has attempted 11 field goals and 11 extra points giving him access to a nice fantasy output.
Matt Breida ($7,500)
Matt Breida has seen his role increase over the last three weeks. While the Patriot’s defense has been very good overall they have allowed the 9th most receptions to opposing running backs this season, which is a strength of Breida. He has seen six or more opportunities each of the last three games. The coaches have made comments on getting him the ball more and he did not disappoint last game with 11 touches and a touchdown. He offers great salary relief and has a good role in one of the league’s most pass-friendly offenses.
