Kyler-Murray-cardinals-dfs-stacks

Welcome to our NFL single-game breakdown for Monday Night Football of Week 14. This article will provide a quick analysis of players to consider on FanDuel for this matchup between the Rams and Cardinals. We’re excited to announce that The FF Faceoff is an official Affiliate of FanDuel, so if you haven’t signed up, do so here. Let’s get right to it in Monday Night NFL FanDuel Picks: Rams @ Cardinals.

The Los Angeles Rams are heading to the desert to play the Arizona Cardinals in what should be a high paced entertaining football game. Currently, the Cardinals are 2.5 point favorites in a game featuring a 51 point total. For the Rams, Darrell Henderson Jr. has already been ruled out paving the way for Sony Michel to get the bulk of the work. For the Cardinals, running back Chase Edmonds is a game-time decision. If he were to remain out, James Conner will continue to get major work for the Cardinals.

MVP Options

Kyler Murray ($17,000)

After coming back from his injury last week Kyler Murray accounted for four total touchdowns, two in the air with two more on the ground. He added an additional 59 yards on the ground. While he did not attempt a lot of passes, he still had a great impact on the offense as he always possesses the ability to beat you with his legs. While the Rams defense has been really good this season, Murray still projects as the highest scorer on the slate and averages 23.95 FanDuel points per game.

Matthew Stafford ($15,500)

Matthew Stafford comes into the game averaging 21.78 FanDuel points per game and back-to-back games with three touchdown passes. While he does not have the rushing upside of a lot of the elite quarterbacks, he does possess huge passing volume as he has attempted 38 or more passes in four straight games. With a hefty projected game total, Vegas is predicting a lot of points and I am looking to Stafford to put up a good amount of those.

Flex Plays

Van Jefferson Jr. ($11,000)

Since Robert Woods suffered a season-ending injury, Van Jefferson has had a major impact on this Rams offense. He has had over 6 targets per game over the last five and has scored in back-to-back games. He has been a consistent threat with the deep ball and has had catches of 19 or more yards in his last five games.

Cooper Kupp ($15,000)

Cooper Kupp is just having one of those seasons in which you expect a 20 point performance anytime he steps on the field. He has received double-digit targets in all but one game this season. He is second in the NFL in red-zone receiving targets at 24 and has converted those targets into nine red-zone touchdowns which is the most in the league. He also has seven 100 yard receiving games so far this season. His price tag will not be easy to get to but gives you a massive floor. He is also in consideration to be put into the MVP spot, but projects slightly below both quarterbacks.

Sony Michel ($12,000)

Sony Michel will get a big workload boost with Darrell Henderson out this game and has shown the ability to put up big games given the volume. Against the Jaguars he posted a 24-121-1 line with an additional three catches. While the Cardinals’ defense is certainly more stout than the Jaguars, the volume alone allows him the ability to have a good fantasy outing. The Cardinals have given up the 7th most receptions to running backs this season, and Michel has shown the ability to catch passes all season.

Matt Prater ($9,000) and Matt Gay ($8,500)

Both kickers in tonight’s game will be in play. There are a bunch of good plays that are expensive, so trying to save some money will be important. Both kickers give you some salary relief and both are averaging over eight FanDuel points per game. Given the high Vegas total, points will be scored giving both kickers a reliable chance for production. With both defenses ranked in the top of the league, both offenses could struggle to sustain drives giving kickers extra field goal attempts.

Tyler Higbee ($7,500) and Zach Ertz ($9,500)

While both defenses have been really good against tight ends, these guys just offer us salary relief with a chance to find the end zone. Tyler Higbee has been targeted 14 times inside the red zone and has caught three touchdowns. Zach Ertz has had a solid target share in most of his games as a Cardinal receiving four or more targets in all but one game.  He has shown the ability to be a great target inside the red zone receiving 11 targets and hauling in four touchdowns.
