NBA Best Bet of the Day – Raptors vs. Knicks
Our best bet between Toronto and New York will target the total, on a single-unit wager.
The total for this game is currently set at 226.5, with the Knicks as colossal 14-point home favorites, meaning betting markets and sportsbooks are anticipating a relatively high-eventful matchup between two Atlantic Division rivals.
After an up-and-down start to the 2024-25 NBA campaign, it appears as though the Knicks have found their stride after reeling off three-consecutive victories, and banking six wins from their past eight games.
Their recent string of success can be attributed to their strong play on the defensive end of the court. As a team, the Knickerbockers rank fifth in Basketball in Team Opponents’ Average Scoring Margin (-7.1), sixth in Opponents’ Points Per Game (109.4), and 10th in Opponents’ Shooting Percentage (46%).
Tom Thibodeau’s team have also stepped up their intensity on defense as of late ranking fifth in the Association in Defensive Efficiency (1.095) over their past three contests.
On the other side of the court sees a depleted Raptors squad that will be without Jakob Poeltl and Immanuel Quickley, who are both nursing injuries. Former Knick RJ Barrett is also listed as a game time decision (GTD) ahead of tonight’s matchup.
From a sheer analytics/metrics standpoint, Toronto has struggled on offense this season, ranking 19th in Points-Per-Game (111.6), and 24th in both True Shooting Percentage (110.2%) and Offensive Efficiency (1.068), per NBA Team Rankings.
In addition, as 14-point home favorites and (-1100) odds to win outright, that carries with it a ridiculous 91.67% implied-win probability. This means that the Knicks are expected to play with the lead, work the clock, and control the tempo of the game, currently sitting in 29th in the NBA in Pace Factor (99.2).
Take the Under in this one at a solid (-110) price point.
