NBA Player Prop Bets – 12/29
Steven Adams Over 16.5 Points + Rebounds
(-125) at PointsBet
Grizzlies vs Lakers
Steven Adams isn’t the most consistent scorer of the basketball, but he is one of the best big men at grabbing rebounds. Collectively, his 16.5 points + rebounds total at PointsBet is just low enough for him to hit the Over tonight at home against the Lakers. Without Anthony Davis in the lineup, the Lakers are that much more vulnerable to enemy big men in the paint.
In the month of December, Adams went over this 16.5 points + rebounds total in 10/13 games, including in six of his past seven games. He also went over this total back on December 9th against the Lakers with Davis in the lineup.
Norman Powell Under 20.5 Points
(-125) at Caesars
Trailblazers vs Jazz
Normal Powell has been hot of late, scoring 23+ points in 5/11 games in December. However, in the other six games, he’s logged fewer than 16 points. Powell has averaged 37.2 minutes per game this month while only averaging 19.5 points, a full point below where tonight’s points-total is set. What’s more, Powell will travel to Utah to face off against one of the best defensive teams in the NBA in the form of the Jazz.
In Portland’s last game against the Mavericks on December 27, Damien Lillard returned to the lineup. As a result, Powell logged his fewest minutes total (30) since December 4th and his fewest points (15) in four games. Lillard should once again be the focal point of Portland’s offense which could limit Powell’s shots.
Robert Williams Over 9.5 Rebounds
(-130) at FanDuel
Celtics vs Clippers
Robert Williams has been one of the hottest centers in the NBA in terms of grabbing rebounds. In his past four of his past five games, Williams has snagged at least 11 boards. Sure, Al Horford’s return on Monday night did affect Williams, but in the scoring department more so than in the rebound category. Williams’ minutes total also took a hit. He only played 22 minutes against the TimberWolves, his fewest in four appearances.
In only 22 minutes, he played at least 29 minutes in each of his four previous games, Williams scored eight points, his fewest in three games. However, he still managed to log 11 rebounds, which is what we are looking for. He’s been dominant in cleaning the glass. I’m not sure he gets to 11 again, I don’t even think he manages a double-double, but I do believe Williams gets 10 rebounds tonight in a middle-of-the-pack matchup at home against the Clippers.
